Mine had a hpfp just before I bought it an yes Iv spent a fair bit on it but I’m happy knowing it’s sorted and in any case it’s a 8 year old car an now it has its second wind 😂an if I do sell it I’m not passing on a heap of hidden trouble 😇
Had a similar situation week before last , pulled over an put the reader on an reset the eml to get me home on a gentle drive , borrowed a coil pack to get me up an running an chucked a new set of Delphi packs on an running great !

I agree with Pedro Iv had the same faults for months an eventually sorted the problem my vvt timing valve was as clean as a whistle but on a closer look the black plastic electrical core was able to move from side to side in the metal casing and it shouldn’t My advice would be buy a new valve...
I did 3 of them 2 large an 1 smaller piston were a difficult to get out they would go round but would not come out without a fight also I had trouble getting 2 pistons back in with the new seals so ended up using the old seals and there fine no leaks an I have brakes that are doing the job 100%...
