Thanks for your feedback re the centre resonator delete. I've been trying to find this information out! So it was just a bit deeper through the ref range? Much different at idle?
Best of luck with the muffler delete. Be really interested to hear how it goes. From my research (including 208...
Haha thanks for all of your input (both useful and funny). I've decided to go with a custom rear silencer and just twin tips (not quads) albeit slightly different to the standard tips. Fitting this Friday. Looking forward to it!
I had considered getting quads, but we'll see.
Unfortunately I'm in Australia for looking at local options. I've done a bit more research and not sure whether removing the resonator will give the sound I'm after, so may need to do the rear muffler after all.
If anyone has any direct...
My new RCZ
I painted the wheel bolts and centre caps black and fitted new domed black Peugeot centres. Looks much better than the silver bolts and big silver centre caps against the black wheels:
Unfortunately the copper hasn't grown on me. I like it, but think I'll stick with the black for...
I can't comment on the RCZ as I've only owned it a month or so, but the Peugeot brand in general is extremely reliable from my experience.
I've owned almost ten over the years and never had problems other than regular maintenance. A few of them were also tracked without incident.
I'm hoping...
Thanks mate. Unfortunately it's illegal to remove the cat over here, so it has to stay. Will just the centre muffler make much of a difference to the note or not worthwhile?
The 5-pot sure does have potential to sound amazing.
Have you modified your RCZ exhaust at all? Centre resonator removed by chance? I'm keen for feedback.
Also, does anyone know about the supposed resonator / valve in the exhaust that opens under full throttle? It seems to have been referred...
Haha yeah, but not if they are not accompanied by a good exhaust note ;)
When looking into exhaust options for my wife's C30 T5-R (5 cylinder 2.5 litre turbo) removing the centre resonator was an option, but all it ended up doing was introducing a whole lot of pops / crackles without altering...
Afternoon all,
I have just started looking into exhaust options for my 2011 RCZ and thought it might be worth seeking a bit of advice from the RCZ experts on this forum before jumping in. I've done a quick search but couldn't find much.
I’m not looking to spend a fortune so will likely avoid...
Re: Will standard 19" alloys fit my R?
A couple of mm clearance from the calipers should be fine mate. The 406 coupe came standard with a couple of mm from the Brembos to the 16s. I also fitted 19s which were literally 1mm away and never had any issues for the 5 years that I owned it.
Surprising mate. I'm no expert, but hadn't heard of head gasket failures before. Also, wouldn't there almost always be oil in the coolant with a head gasket failure?
Hey mate, sorry to hear about your endless issues.
I purchased my RCZ about 3-4 weeks ago and had a similar leak (which looks as if it was coming from a similar spot). It was the thermostat housing on the back of the engine. It's a plastic part with lots of pipes coming off it, apparently a...
Re: My new RCZ
Thanks mate!
For those who are interested I thought I'd post up some shots with them fitted.
Unfortunately I (stupidly) skimped on the first step (cleaning) so although they looked clean, there was minute dirt / grime in some areas so the dip didn't stick (mostly the rear...
Thanks for the above post. I had a good listen to mine while cold this morning. It does have a slight rattle from the timing chain side of the engine when cold, but like you say it completely disappears after a minute or two.
It's a 2011 200HP with 54k kilometres on the clock.
I'll keep an...
