I've had a couple of high mileage cars of various manufactures in the past and have been great cars. There is a black 2013 facelift RCZ GT Hdi on Facebook sales and is only £3995, looks a lovely car but has 150,000 miles.
You can buy a cheap oil extractor from eBay, I use one a boat I have with an inboard Ford engine as on boats virtually impossible to get to the drain plug.
Going to having a second look at a 64 plate GT Hdi, 71000 miles three owners. Peugeot garage, 12 months warranty, two years free servicing. Looked immaculate with refurbed black wheels but it was torrential rain on my first look at it. Does this sound reasonable at £8995 firm ?
Closest I can...
Thought it was only the diesel Hdi which is cambelt driven had a 10 year / 120,000 miles change ?. Timing chains are normally engine lifelong items and only changed on demand.
Diesel has a cambelt rather than a timing chain so make sure in any history it has been changed at the required interval. Believe it's at 10 years or 120,000 miles. They usually recommend water pump done at the same time.
Glad you are ok, looks a write off, stand your ground on the payout, get as much info on prices for a similar model as you can. They usually try to hit you low on a first offer but be prepared to give them evidence of what the inflated prices are at the moment.
Looks a nice car, I would get some more photos up and a location for viewing. I'm on the lookout but set my heart on a standard red 200. If you do Facebook there are RCZ owners and a seperate RCZ cars and parts sales which seems a lot more active. Best of luck.
Found a red 200 only about 30 miles or so from me, private sale but bit warey as even though had new timing chain and fuel pump also had valve work. Also a black 156 but Mot shows damaged strut turret so steer clear of that one.
Seems like I need to be looking for ones with timing chains and...
Red petrols are very few around, falling in love with a red Carbon but looks mega rare. Never say never to a 156hp but like my MX5 they do a 1.8 and 2.0 and just wonder if I would regret it but will see. Only red petrol I can find is on a 64 plate with low miles, a 156 but too far to view at the...
Hi all, always admired the design and style of the RCZ, must admit I've never owned a Peugeot and realise from reading a lot on this forum what to look out for. When things ease restrictions wise will hopefully get out and view a few preferable a petrol 200bhp in metallic red would tick a few...
