Why contact the insurance company ? It will cost a lot more in excess and future years no claims bonus/premium. Even if it's say £400 or so max it will cost you a lot more going the insurance route. And as for excess protection on your insurance that's another gripe with me. Had a claim a few...
Had a similar issue with my daughter's fairly new Passat, three mobile dent chaps came out and said the same that area hit was double skinned so couldn't get behind the damaged skin to effect a good repair. Ended up in the bodyshop for the repair.
I don't know, forgot it was ending Friday and when I looked it just said auction ended, sales status on approval so assume it didn't make reserve again so awaiting seller response.
That explains the mess where the badge was, looks like the filling and blending has been damaged so filler has been raked out. Why would a private seller put it through a Copart auction though ? Thought Copart only dealt with insurance cars.
Could be, any car with poor connections or low power on the battery can throw up random faults and codes and do strange things. I would see how it goes if codes have cleared as that sure is a lot of fault codes to suddenly throw up if it was fine prior to this.
Maybe a photo or reg number might help. Assume you have bought from Copart as they have a Chester branch. Any body damage at all as think the Matt paint takes some matching ?. Have a search on the forum as the Matt paintwork needs special considerations regarding cleaning and looking after.
Looks like the way they work is set a reserve, accept bids then if it falls short ask highest bidder if they want to raise the offer then present it to the seller. If not hence it's looped back round for another auction.
Was trying to work out the front damage, my guess is it's been debadged and filled and blended in the recessed area and the front impact has blown it out. If I lived closer would love to have had a look. Can't see it fetching more than £4k, could be a lovely car with prob another £4-5k spent on...
Could get my head around that black one, £3.5k for think it was a Cat S that just wanted a new front strut, a tyre and a little bodywork. Do insurance companies really write off cars requiring so little.
Could be a bargain, hard to see what the damage is apart from the bonnet and what looks like someone's gouged it out and a lot of filler. It's cat N so not structural.
How did you get Peugeot to replace the chain, do you have warranty through them ? I viewed an RCZ in a Peugeot garage and they told me it would be an aftermarket warranty due to car being 8 years old and things like chains and Hpfp are wear and tear items which to me made the warranty useless...
