RCZ won’t start after major engine work – timing chain, oil pump, electrical faults & water ingress – need advice

The module info is in the electrical gremlins just above. Good luck.

Weird clunk sound and feel through throttle lift off and gear shift

Potentially the rear engine mount, but I might be inclined to change all mounts, inc gearbox as they are all same age after all. I believe they were born to be driven with a bit of gusto so get em changed and roar on. Have the front suspension arms and the strut top mounts checked too while the...

RCZ won’t start after major engine work – timing chain, oil pump, electrical faults & water ingress – need advice

https://www.peugeotrczforum.com/threads/electrical-gremlins.17381/post-175683 There was a thread on the forum about a member that fitted a brand new Bosch alt and to put it quite simply, the car did not like it. New alt from Peugeot sorted him out.

RCZ won’t start after major engine work – timing chain, oil pump, electrical faults & water ingress – need advice

Awful thing to have happen. During the job the battery should have been disconnected, it could be that during the disconnection or reconnection the battery control module got blown. If this is popped it could give you most of your issues, including being stuck in economy mode. Depending what all...

cost of clutch replacement (who in the Midlands?) - cost of uprated clutch fit (stage 1 road use only) - with /without flywheel

The dual mass flywheel could be reaching the end of its service life, springs gone slack in the discs giving you a strange bite, judder. Could have had a spirited driving style, hard not to 😀. 80k is in the window of clutch life depending on those things. When your getting the clutch done it is...

Leather interior maintenance (2014 new shape - appears a finer, Napa style to pre face lift?)

https://www.peugeotrczforum.com/threads/leather-care-products.18535/ few different ideas on the subject, but should give you some info.

    front abs wheel sensor

You might still get a genuine, used in the 308’s and Citroen for some time after the RCZ finished. If you do get stuck with waiting times I bought two full sets (not oem) when one of mine failed I can pop it in the post. Was due to rust growth pushing it forward wearing it through on the tip, if...

    ABS module location

The external diodes were on the early cars, I think pre 2012. It was then integrated into the abs pump. If there isn’t a box about the size of a cig pack on the lower front of you battery (or your up the years) it’s integrated.

    ABS module location

Pic of what it looks like, and if you remove the air pipes circle in red along with the noise box you will see it. Before you jump to replace there is a relay box (from memory) attached at the front of the battery box that has four 1 amp diodes in it along with a couple of other bits, it can...

RCZ 200BHP RED CARBON FOR SALE 2014

Have you an idea of a price in mind, with and without the reg? Might help to move it on having a bit of an idea where you think it’s at. Wife just said no, unless something goes…….hmmm.

    Passenger seat slider control

Guessing electric control buttons?? A switch panel can be picked up cheap enough from eBay from which you can decide to either pry them off or change the panel. Although there are some expensive ones on there too...

Was I wrong to walk away?

I don’t have any water in the boot, I last was in at the spare area less than two weeks ago, and hope it’s the same today. i have had a few RCZ’s in the household over the years and can’t recall any of them letting in water. We have had plenty of rain to test the seals the last while back. Don’t...

    Date not changing automatically

…ah you had to ask. The dear wife pointed out what I was doing after numerous attempts and getting booted out to main menu.

    Gino from Belgium

Welcome onboard, nice car and a fun place to take it to for a play. You do have another problem that would send my OCD into quite a spin, your rear number plate is not straight.

    Date not changing automatically

The only thing that comes to mind is that you might be hitting an incorrect button jumping you out to main menu……ask me how I know… Hopefully it is something like this and you get sorted.

    Vanos failure

Unfortunately seen that before on a 1.6 thp 150 (not a Z) foam builds up, sometimes gets through the system but instead of oil working hydraulically it sponges. Ended up changing the vanos and solenoid as two oil changes with a flush additive in the first didn’t clear it through. But it’s the...

Wha Whatt, you wouldn’t take on a Ferrari on the motorway?? 🤭

    156 slow

Before you remap it’s best to know it’s in good health. I have a 156 and don’t find it sluggish at all. Being a direct injection engine and having spent years tootling about it could be in need of the inlet valves cleaning and a very thorough service. Then a bit of gradual Italian tuning to blow...
