Believe the air dosers switch the flow of air to the inlet manifold depending on engine temperature, also something to do with dpf regeneration air flow.
Nothing at all changed when I removed my 406 Coupe HDi air dosers as it was all handled by the ECU remap which was done to 'map out' the...
On my 406 Coupe 2.2 HDi I used oven cleaner to clean the EGR (before I eventually removed it) and to clean the vanes on the hot (exhaust) side of my turbo. Worked a treat 😁 👍
That's exactly what I use mine for :) Long press before leaving the car and when you lock the car the internal movement sensors won't pick up Fido moving about... 😂😂
I've a 156 THP petrol RCZ now but my previous car was a 406 Coupe 2.2. HDi. I removed both air dosers with a 'Nico' pipes upgrade. I removed & blanked the EGR. I removed the FAP from the exhaust flow. I upgraded the ECU on the car with a generic 180 remap that also mapped out the dosers, EGR...
What's the fix for this then lads? Plastic weld? Surely there is something that can be used to bond it back and have it back to full strength & rigidity?
Curious to know this not just for this particular situation but for knowing in general if this can be done...
No worries mate. Lot's of knowledgeable & helpful people on here to help you 👍
My advice to you is to fully service your car (all the filters: oil, air, cabin/pollen), check and/or replace your spark plugs and ensure you use Total Quartz Ineo ECS 5w-30 oil. Then keep the oil topped up to the...
Good luck with your car 👍
Have a good look around this site for the common problems you might face with the 156 THP. I was lucky with mine (so far, touch wood 🤞) and only had to replace the turbo oil feed line 👍
I too can vouch for the above Ali Express links. Amazingly cheap and the key blade is cut to perfection... 100% works. The key is chunky & quality. I'm delighted with mine. Only thing with Ali Express is the time you must wait for delivery...
Mine is the same as this. I think the petrol's have this metal tipped dipstick and, unfortunately, Peugeot in their 'wisdom' decided to use a plastic tipped dipstick in the HDi... which snaps off for many. God knows why they chose to do this
100% agree with this 👍
First thing I did when I bought my THP 156 end of April was to do a full service of all filters and Total Quartz INEO ECS 5w-30 oil. I 100% know I'm running quality Peugeot recommended oil that will prolong the life of my engine particularly around the timing chain &...
Wow  A 'garage' managed to do that... incorrectly fit a banjo bolt by misfitting the copper crush washers :oops: Incredible...
My first thoughts are I would be getting rid of this 'garage' and never letting them near my car again... and secondly I wouldn't be paying them a penny...
I use Total Quartz INEO ECS 5w-30 in my 2010 1.6 THP RCZ. I know most have switched to 0w-30 now but with my car having 90k miles on her I felt it safer to keep to the original oil used...
The tensioner failing seems to be the 'House of Cards' for the whole timing system collapsing
Tensioner change is a cheap fix and good preventative maintenance along with regular oil changes and keeping the oil level topped up to the max 👍🏼
More likely this will snap as a result of the chain stretching slightly. Like others have stated you need to take off the valve/rocker cover to change this. You'd be better changing or at least keeping an eye on the chain tensioner as well as keeping the oil changed regularly with the correct...
Good job 👍
Did you use a dremel or similar to cut open the unit? How difficult was it to cut it open?
Did you glue it back or did you use silicon or butyl based adhesive?
