I have used bosch products for over 30 years, never had an issue, personally bosch, ngk or Delphi coils are all good, I wouldn’t fit unbranded or eBay bought ones ever. also would always change all 4 together, if your keeping the car as weeks later another coil usually fails.

Doing about 40mph and a tree branch went into the windscreen, it could have been far far worse, needed to change the boxers as well!! new windscreen been fitted next week £280 all in.

Yes that’s what I put in it, total traxium gear 8, 75w 80, definitely quieter on cold starts, holds 2.1-2.2 litres, not a difficult job with the correct tools.

Well ive finally got round to changing the gearbox oil in my R, the old oil didn’t look too bad, until I saw the colour of the new oil!! The gear change and smoothness just confirms to me that it needed doing, well worth doing in my opinion.

Hi guys, I’m getting an intermittent fault, the abs/esp shows up a fault, I’ve read the fault codes and 1 fault is showing, C0040 brake pedal switch fault: coherence with the pressure sensor. has anyone come across this fault before? Cheers guys.

No mate, the R is running well, I had a 156 gt that had had the updated tensioner but obviously that then failed also

Just checked your fault code p0008, the garage is correct, that code relates to the correlation between the camshaft and the crankshaft timing. 9 times out of 10 it means the timing chain has stretched, guides have worn or tensioner, or all of the above. New timing chain kit is probably needed...

Probably going to cost £700-£850 all in, chain kits have increased in price, last one I did took me about 6 hours, so quite labour intensive, regardless of mileage as these cars are 9 or 10 years old now it will need a new chain kit

Have you changed the cam position sensor? They are about £25-£30 for a bosch one, try that first, but as it’s 9 years old, if the chain hasn’t been done it will need it doing. I replaced the chain on one last month because it had a rattle on start up for a second, no eml were on and it ran ok...
