Used rear screens are £150 on eBay, obviously though much more new from Peugeot, doubtful it was written off for a new screen......given it is a CAT car, the MOT history is pretty awful and the seller points out scratches and dents, these cars can be finicky with tip top upkeep never mind an...
Not sure if damage has been done? It's a good bet given it's an interference engine if the cam chain has snapped there will be damage....usually starting with bent valves. If they are just slapping a new chain kit on without lifting the Head first given what you describe it doesn't make sense...
Just read some old posts....some owners seem to have had this as a PDI issue from new!
You have done well. The issue will be as you say changing over all the documentation and data with DVLA, MoTs, Service Records etc to secure a future sale.
This one?
Saw the one you mention on Autotrader, looks in good condition does show disc advisory and a wiper issue which shows in the pictures on AT Also both front springs should have been replaced., seems a common issue as mine snapped too . Have no knowledge of previous owner maybe Trade...
No, but have had lightened flywheel on another car and it transformed the driveability of the car, more responsive etc. I had the DM flywheel replaced under warranty on my R but if I had to pay for a clutch job etc after the warranty expires I would be putting a SMF lightened flywheel in the...
Given the temperatures in Finland and that the R uses Total 0w30, that would be a good bet; can't see much issue with a 5w30 or 5w40 either especially as higher mileage engine but why change from spec if not burning/using much oil?
Not good that the car indicating low oil, keep tabs on the...
The R is meant to have new plugs annually, I don't as my car does circa 1K miles a year. You will know if the MD has changed your plugs (ask for the old ones back) because you will have around £130 added to your service bill. In the UK the R/208 270 THP plugs are thankfully now available from...
That is turning into a myth on some engines, cars with timing chains are failing because of the ancillaries (not the chain itself) like tensioners, guides and oil feeds etc which deteriorate and then fail causing the chain to jump teeth, not get lubed etc.
It won't have to be a modification named on insurance for 3rd party discs...get real. Cracked discs warped discs....have mtec on my Coupe and gtv...no problems. You keep paying top dollar! This is getting absurd...I have a brand new set of Alcon discs in boxes from Fish Bros if cheaper elsewhere...
Can't see it being a problem myself a disc of metal is a disc of metal, look at the disc options from Mtec for current cars. It's the same as the R's plugs used to be only supplied by Dealer's I seem to remember now from ECP's etc. All good makes the R even more of a performance bargain.
