I have the same behaviour on the 200THP.
ECU does not turn on the vent up to 105 degrees. In this case, when you let it idle at 106 - the vent would kick of in a couple of minutes.
My coolant started dropping. About 0,1l every 2000 kilometres. Car does not smoke, no sludge under the cap. There does not seem to be any leak.
Any ideas? Or should I just forget about it.
Yes. I have a 200THP and I’ve seen this when washing the car and then driving it. Some water makes its way to the engine and then vaporizes due to high temperatures.
If you have a THP, I would not recommend any insulation as the engine runs very hot and it might went above regular operating temperatures. The same reason why the THPs do not have any underbody plastic beneath the engine.
Please note, mine was stuck in the upper most position, and no amount of pressure and button pressing worked (the button light was on). I left the car for a couple of days and the next time I went to the highway, I disengaged the button and it automatically adjusted and worked since then.
Do you know what "anecdotal evidence means"?
Which BMW? Because I also find driving in an X5 or a 5-series "refined" because it is a completely different car as opposed to driving in a Z4 which is a low car more comparable to RCZ. Z4 has the same rattly dashboard as a RCZ as you cannot have a...
I absolutely love driving it. Of course people will not come to the forum to talk about stuff that works (as it is expected to work). They will come to complain that something broke. But still, issues with RCZ are the same as with any other car. Better care you take, better the performance and...
I use it as a daily driver. Had some issues (dying ignition coils, burning oil, random codes) when I bought it two years ago - it was a 2013 FL model at 118000km.
Then I said fuck it, replaced almost everything engine-wise (valve cover, water pump, belt, timing chain, ignition coils...
