Engine, Owners and 'Techs'
The THP despite being initially lauded and winning countless awards even up to 2014 has shown in most of it's variants as being problematic especially so the PSA/BMW designed earlier variants, was it the N13/14's? less so the later modified and enhanced PSA only...
The British are obsessed with reflecting their real or apparent wealth or success via their car, PCP has obviously given that an almighty boost; historically it seems even though the reliability and quality of such favoured brands have fallen, many still lust after or purchase the usual suspects...
Another nice article with information about the R including design and component/manufacturers etc
https://www.just-auto.com/features/vehicle-analysis-2014-peugeot-rcz-r/
when I looked up the Pug code, says idle too rich......
Possible causes
– Leaking fuel pressure regulator
– Leaking fuel injector
Need to get someone who know's what they are doing with this engine, not a generic spannerman especially with 'this code could mean anything......' really...
That link is dead for me I have this
I think the R had every extra available on the RCZ except for the front parking sensors, carbon roof cover and the JBL sound system.
Been rummaging on the Internet and found an Australian site 'Which Car' .com and each year they have their PCOTY....Performance Car of the Year...in 2014 it was:
1. Porsche 911 Turbo
2. Porsche Cayman GTS

4. Peugeot RCZ R PCOTY 4th - Peugeot RCZ-R
5. VW Golf R

Met a few ex Owner's of R's usually from buying parts from them...set of unused mats...unused R Wheel...brochures etc...they were all petrolheads and had/have had more exotica. All rated the R as a fantastic sports car..saying with a different marque on the bonnet it would be more lauded by...
Few low milers on AT.....a 12K miles 1 Owner Morocccan@£18750 private sale, looks mint....few new Trade listings too. Prices seem to be holding up again for the low mileage examples.
The groan type noise from the clutch is probably the Dual Mass Flywheel beginning to die....had mine replaced under Pug warranty on my low mileage car..female owned too...the QC control like the earlier HPFPs seems somewhat lacking. Can last a while but if it goes it will/can cause untold grief.
Think it depends on a little luck and obviously not purchasing a POS in the first instance....and more so on an Owner and/or mechanic that actually knows what they're doing....this Forum is full of posts where Owner's have been taken for a complete ride, fleeced for needless replacement parts...
I am in for the long term ownership too, mine is a low mile Garage Queen now on less than 1K miles pa, got it before the market had the big increase in 2019>. Can't see it losing much money from current values in the Short Term and in the future it will gain given the ingredients that make it...
Crashed? The dogs are still for sale circa £10k...the decent examples are around £15k. With premium examples £17-22k....been that way for a good while. Mileage seemingly the key price factor.
Price adjustment across the car market seems inevitable given current issues....
