i dont get it - I check several times each week and there is next to nothing being discussed (other than occasional fault)

I know what you mean, I too check in a few times a week to see what is going on.
RCZ owners are not in high numbers, then there are also a bunch of Facebook forums for RCZ which spread potential member number unless they join across multiple groups. Then add in most people check in to a forum when something is wrong and looking support. A high majority of owners tend to use garages to have required works done because it needs as opposed to home tinkering because it’s er, dare I say, fun. From my point of view, I could spent an age inputing what I have been tinkering on the car with weekly.

Couple of things I have in front of me is to change the rear shocks, mounts etc cos they don’t look as nice now with crust starting.
Then after i mot it at the end of this month I’ll have to take the plastic sill covers off and reshape the pinch weld jack points.
Everytime I do something I spot my next project on the car, like I also noticed the rear subframe is starting to surface rust, wheels need refurb, front subframe is……and so on. Wife things I am OTT on it, but hey.

The new rear shocks made me giggle, Bilstein B4 German OE (made in Romania), when the fronts arrive wonder what the label will say.

Hmm, I was contemplating H&R lowering (by about 10mm) and tightening it up a little. The gap above the wheels to arch is a little too much. The ride is good at the minute, on the decent roads, but just a wee bit firmer into corners would feel a tad better.

eeeek, your roads are infinitely better than mainland then... u can expect to hit a 4" deep vertical sharp edged hole of several square feet, multiple times a minute on a lot of the roads...

I too looked at HR, agree visually too much gap, despite 19" rims.

In Theory (HDi model) and because of road condition and age, mine, I would opt for:

245 45 19" premium / mid comfort based all season tyres with perhaps c 7mm spacers and modified liners to clear

Lower the back c 20mm. the front c 10mm

Progressive springs (c. 20-25% softer initially tapering to 10%)

Adjustable softer digressive dampers

Fully replace all bushes and top mounts

Adjustable camber would be a bonus, very mild negative would improve stance if nothing else

Yep, that’s why I am putting them back in nice and fresh…….just the springs I might go of reservation for.

Tein H tech are supposed to be "comfortable" whilst also lowering.

I had Tein coil overs on my GT 86, and they were decent quality.

It frustrates me too, the number of RCZs here in Tasmania is negligible (here in the north of the island I only know of three others), have joined several Facebook groups, but there is not much information over there either. Cheers.

the picture is pin sharp on my basic Nokia, however once emailed to my pc via yahoo, it finishes up seemingly at c 5% of original res!

guess mine must be tired after 80k UK roads then...cos thats a decent brand

Apart from unforgivable pothole behaviour, continuously very slightly rippley road at 60 mph+ has it losing composure, not floaty (dream..?!) just confused and unsettled deterring higher speed...

I live in Canberra and I'm aware of only two other RCZs in the nation's capital.

I don't know how many were sold here back in the day but not a lot remain.

There is no Peugeot dealer in Canberra these daze unfortunately but we are lucky to have a great Reno Peugeot mechanic shop which has been here for years. I purchased a reconditioned Reno 16 motor from them thirty years ago n fact and while ownership and staff have changed, the expertise remains!

Hi Ian,

The Peugeot dealership in Launceston just vanished one day...

When I purchased the RCZ it was a total mechanical mess, I took it to the mechanic that had done all services and they told me to scrap it. Three months later I found a dude that tricks-out 4x4s (by recommendation of a colleague at work).

He did a turbo swap (and some other things); not considering the eye-watering bill, he did everything right and the RCZ seems to be behaving very well now.
