I have now an explanation for the wonky quads.
Having crawled underneath and with a torch examined all the fixtures and fittings of the Remus system, I can report that whoever and whenever installed it did the best they could.
I shoved up the right hand side tips and immediately just behind the tips it fouled on a substantial piece of metal.
Similarly the left hand side does not seem to have any potential for lowering.
Then it dawned on me what the limitations and obstructions were.
The car has a very posh towing bracket system which is totally invisible when not deployed, the ball being on a bracket that pushes into a socket behind the rear skirt and lower lamp fitment, with the electrical socket swivelling down to be exposed.
The extra ironmongery under the rear meant it was (must have been) a very tricky and tight fit.
So my options are: Remove towing stuff; revert to non-quad exhaust; put up with wonky quads.
Removing towing equipment, believe it or not, would also require a registration process, as the Westfalia tow hitch, etc. is homologated and on the official documents of the car.
Reverting to the non-quad exhaust configuration would be very sad and I could get lynched by quad fanatics on this forum.
Leaving as is with wonky asymmetrical quads might niggle a few anal perfectionists (sorry frankvdb), and I shall always notice it.
My choice is [drum roll] - leave as is until my acceptance of it being part of the unique appeal and character of La Gata Negra, runs out, and one of the other options is applied.

If I remember correctly the zunsport quad exhaust system that goes behind the bumper cannot be fitted if there is a towbar.

Another option would be to cut part of the exhaust near the ironmongery to allow it to fit.
So maybe half of the pipe under (I presume) the towbar bracket is cut away and a piece fabricated to re cover the part cut away.

Thanks for that,
Will certainly show problem to my Pug man at next visit and see if he can adapt without wrecking nor incurring dreaded rattles.
Remus system seems to just/nearly coexist with Westfalia towing "frame".

Why dont you bend the left ones to match the right?

One of the first things I thought of as an alternative approach.
The left ones, as you might know are almost part of the silencer, and as such the mountings are more and still entangled and restricted by the wizardry of Westfalia ironmongery.
It would also most likely ending up twisting the whole bloody shebang, so then one pair (RHS) would be level and other (LHS) on the lop, but possibly the same height.
So would have progressed from wonky to loppy, with another mismatch to sort out.
Not how I want to proceed, but thanks for suggestion.

creo que pollo y huevo:
Quads or tow hitch? :eusa-think:
Somewhere in Switzerland there may be the voice of experience on the matter.
Whichever, I bet whoever came second had to do a bit of a compromise, and I'm guessing, not wishing to do cutting and welding, ended up with a solution, a bit wonky. :(
If my Pug man can do a neat bit of cutting and welding to modify right hand pipe to miss tow hitch frame then the eyesore of a couple of centimetres asymmetric tippery will be sorted.
If not, I'll adjust my glasses accordingly! :wtf:

I don’t have quads :brickwall: but I know if I did I couldn’t live with them not looking level. To me, it’s like a badly fitted number plate, I hate seeing slanting plates on cars, & I always think “why?” Just sort it !!

In your case, there is a justifiable reason for the issue. I would ask myself in your circumstances, do I ever intend using the tow bar? Yes it’s a handy thing to have there, but if you don’t have a trailer, and never intend using it, get rid & sort the quads out

If memory serves correct you have other vehicles anyway, so if you reeaallly needed a tow bar, you could fit one on a more suitable vehicle, & enjoy the RCZ with level quads, un-encumbered by extraneous accessories that shouldn’t have been there in the first place. Maybe you already have access to other towing options?

If it’s possible, I would agree with the previous comments, bend it, shape it, move it, adjust it, do whatever is necessary to level them up, it really is only a couple of centimetres & I would imagine your Pug man could manage it, given the right incentive (more than likely a handful of Euros).

But as has also been said in other threads, it’s your car & whatever makes you happy is the right solution for you.
