I have now an explanation for the wonky quads.
Having crawled underneath and with a torch examined all the fixtures and fittings of the Remus system, I can report that whoever and whenever installed it did the best they could.
I shoved up the right hand side tips and immediately just behind the tips it fouled on a substantial piece of metal.
Similarly the left hand side does not seem to have any potential for lowering.
Then it dawned on me what the limitations and obstructions were.
The car has a very posh towing bracket system which is totally invisible when not deployed, the ball being on a bracket that pushes into a socket behind the rear skirt and lower lamp fitment, with the electrical socket swivelling down to be exposed.
The extra ironmongery under the rear meant it was (must have been) a very tricky and tight fit.
So my options are: Remove towing stuff; revert to non-quad exhaust; put up with wonky quads.
Removing towing equipment, believe it or not, would also require a registration process, as the Westfalia tow hitch, etc. is homologated and on the official documents of the car.
Reverting to the non-quad exhaust configuration would be very sad and I could get lynched by quad fanatics on this forum.
Leaving as is with wonky asymmetrical quads might niggle a few anal perfectionists (sorry frankvdb), and I shall always notice it.
My choice is [drum roll] - leave as is until my acceptance of it being part of the unique appeal and character of La Gata Negra, runs out, and one of the other options is applied.
