So Marcus, does it come with some special cleaning products? If so, what? :D

I may be wrong, but it looks like you just throw it in the washing machine with some Bold.

Peugeot give each asphalt customer a very nice kit containing Peugeot approved shampoo, insect remover, tar remover, adhesive remover, micro fibre cloths, chamois leather...products from their own boutique range...I will post a piccy of it for you tomorrow.

There is lots of dire warnings about how you look after it:

"Never clean the paint without water
Never use an automatic car wash with brushes or rollers
Never polish the vehicle or the alloy wheels. This will cause polished areas to appear in the paint
Never use paint cleaners, abrasive products or polishes or high gloss paint protection products (wax for example). These products are only suitable for non matt finishes. Using them on a vehicle with a matt finish will seriously damage the painted surface of the vehicle and in particular will cause IRREVERSIBLE staining or polished areas to appear.
Do not use high pressure jet wash lances fitted with brushes, they may scratch the paint
Never select a wash programme that finishes with a hot wax

Never wash the vehicle using any abrasive cleaning equipment (cleaning brushes, household sponges etc) always use a high pressure jet was and cleaning materials made of soft, non abrasive materials (micro fibre, clean chamois leather etc)
Do not polish, nor apply wax, nor use abrasive household cleaners
Do not rub off deposits of any kind (bird droppings, insects, tar etc) but soak them with the appropriate cleaner to soften them and make their removal easier"

:wtf:

Interesting point about not polishing the wheels! are they not standard solstice?

Sounds like a lot of hard maintenance to me.

You must be mad Marcus. There must have been a company car with less responsibility attached to it available to you. So why on earth take the asphalt on ?

The wheels are standard solstice onyx black, I think they don't want wax on the wheels or treatments on the tyres incase it gets flicked up onto the paint.

The reality is all you do is wash it with the right shampoo and use some products to clean of different sorts of contamination....just like a normal car except you never have to wax or polish it.
:)

Lots of the instructions equally apply to normal painted cars, eg don't use car washes, abrasives, etc as I'm sure RCZ1 will confirm :D

That's a bit like when George Mallory was asked why he wanted to climb Everest to which he answered ...."because it's there"

Love how it looks, love the interior and can have it valeted whenever I want..makes it easier to live with the cleaning rules.

Things get very interesting if you scratch it

Jeezo - HARD WORK!!!!

I know how to overcome this though - never wash it! :text-blondmoment:

I bet those packs, so kindly donated by Pug to start with, cost an absolute bomb!!! :eusa-think:

I saw a matt RS500 recently and I dread the day a kiddie takes some chalk to it! At least the asphalt being grey it doesn't look like a blackboard!!
