what does RCZ stand for?

I know this might sound daft but wondering does it actually mean anything or is it just a random selection of letters picked by the marketing department?

Is that likely bearing in mind that the car is not British built or designed? Why would they choose anything in English :?:

Nope - it's the last letter of the alphabet Z which started the name off, the end - final etc. Not sure why they picked the RC some choice made by a marketing women, I think the same one who changed Asphalt from black to grey. :eusa-think:

I have heard the Z stands for Zagato, after the designer Ugo. As for the RC...could be Racing Concept or Racing Coupe...but then again I could be clutching at straws!

Hi all,
From what understand the RC part is a French equivalent of GT (grand tourer?), and the Z is in relation to the car designers Zagato. Zagato have a signature design language which includes the double bubble roof arrangement. Although Zagato had no part in the cars design, this was done in house by Peugeot.

I make reference to an e mail I sent to Peugeot France, August 21st 2010, (Which I posted on this forum),to which they reponded by stating that RCZ did not stand for anything. I wonder why this cannot be resolved!

RCZ doesn't really stand for anything really, it was just a name given to the car.

But for Peugeot in france there equivalent GTi bagde is called a RC - 206rc 207rc etc.

So im guessing its RC for that reason and the z means nothing at all.

Just meant to sound cool.

Nope - you have to go and find out.

Mind you end of the month I will have a new replacement from Graz but it's not an RCZ.

I wish or even an Aston Rapide.

To get a tour - which I think will be done again, you will need to go through Peugeot UK with about 20 or so people within the group. I have loads of photo's which were sent from the plant, both of the production line and our visit as well, these guys are very proud of what they build, that's why I've gone for a car which is built at the same factory - great mind set.

Rob.
