Has anyone noticed their washer bottle leaks down to the level where the filler tube joins the bottle?
It might not be something you would normally notice as once filled to the brim, you would probably use the washers before you next checked the level.
The other day, I was travelling to York, so checked all my levels prior to setting off. That day I didn't use the washers at all. The next day, I wanted to give the car a good clean, and when I opened the bonnet to clean underneath, I noticed I couldn't see the washer fluid level. I had used additive which was blue, so the level was easy to see. I filled the bottle again back up to the brim. The amount it took was probably just enough to fill the filler tube.
The next day, not having used any again, I checked, and again the level could not be seen. I filled it again, and it took more or less the same amount.
There is often liquid on the driveway after driving, but I had thought it was probably just from the aircon condenser.
The last car I had, a Megane CC had exactly this problem, and the garage said it was where the corrugated tube went into the bottle body. They fitted a new bottle and tube complete foc under warranty, but it did exactly the same thing, so I just gave up, as it wasn't really all that important, and I couldn't be bothered to lose the car for yet another day.
As my car will be going in for its second service next week, I thought I would ask if anyone else had noticed this, as if it's a common thing, I won't bother mentioning it as I think it's likely to be a difficult fix due to the location of the bottle, they will no doubt have to order parts in, so that will be another day without the car, and another trip where I have to organise lifts, and it isn't really all that important in the big scheme of things :eusa-think:
