Right "Mean while back at the Ranch"....

Call this "Banter" (English Term)? Us Scots call it "Patter"

I booked and paid for my well deserved holiday only to get correspondence back saying we had booked a "standard room promo with garden view". My female, called Avril, said "Wit the fook???" So, she worked her magic on the phone, saying that we had booked a superior pool view room (very true, yes we did!).

So we got a letter today that say we have a Deluxe family suite sea view room! WHAOOOOOOOOOOOOO, God I have a wee bit of luck. THEN!... wait for it!

...I got a £1,200 tax rebate  :wtf: today. Not many like me on here.......... but up there somewhere, the big yin does like me. If it's any consolation to my non fans, my ELDEST STEP DAUGHTER "REALLY DOES HATE ME".........................

As for the AUDI, ITS MILES AWAY! I don't care, don't need it. It's just a car till it turns up in the drive.... I guess what I'm saying is, is that there's more to life than a car. :)

Going to get my wee mum a sound-bar on Sunday, as her LED TV speakers are crap, just like her hearing :( So Richersounds are doing a Yamaha for £189. It's an early mothers day present, so to speak :D :D

Rizz, I'm glad your recovery has been extremely quick and the stress has been alleviated. So, just get on Jen's bones ASAP

You've both had me in absolute knots with this!!  Genius...absolute genius!!

Jassy - glad that the holiday is (like the Thunderbirds) "go". Sounds like Avril has worked her magic and you've got a cracking break lined up. I await the pictures of you returning like a Scottish Dale Winton...minus the campness. ;) I will be interested to hear which sound bar you go for as my Dad just got a new samsung LED and it too has utterly woeful speakers. Any tips on them would be greatly appreciated!

As the recovery is yet to begin, Jen's bones are going to be in for a lot of jumping/bone shaking ;) before the hospital saga begins all over again on Monday...groan!! :(

Went to see Plan B (Jassy you'll maybe know him better as Ben Drew) tonight which was unexpected as I thought I was going to be in hospital...BOOM! He was ace although there was some fighty moments at the end in the crowd. I'd have sorted it all out with my strong sense of instilled justice but I left my crime fighting outfit at home and besides...my lung would have probably crumpled before I'd done up my cape.

I really enjoyed the film. It had a little of all the things that I like in a film. A bit too much bad language, but unfortunately, that seems to go with the territory these days. All in all a damn good film well worth watching

So...my phone upgrade is due to arrive tomorrow. Plumped to walk away from Apple and their lack of innovation after being a devotee for years. I still have my iPad and am a little unsure how I'll adapt without having the apps that I rely on so much (and have paid for) but I can only give it a bash. I opted for the Samsung Galaxy S3...anyone else got one? I read that the S4 is expected to be announced next month and released in April but I couldn't wait without having to sign up to another contract and retain my 4S so I've jumped with both feet. Could be a decision that I yet come to regret...:eusa-think:

Sorry guys, missed these posts earlier! I'm not convinced about the android system but the phone has a super fast processor and one of the best displays on the market. I was also drawn by the greater degree of multi tasking that it enables. The iPhone really doesn't allow any real form of multi-tasking at all and I am incredibly frustrated by the inability of it to handle JavaScript, lack of flash player etc etc. As Jassy says, if I really hate it I'll bang it back within the appropriate period and go for something different. I'm just hoping I get it before going back into hospital tomorrow so that I have something to keep me busy...although I am tempted by a totally frivolous spend and the purchase of a Sony Vita. I love technology!!!!

I love my iPhone and iPad but agree the lack of flash player is a major bone of contention with me. You say that the android has a greater degree of multi tasking, in what way? Its one of the reasons I like Apple so much because if I do something on the iPhone it will update the iPad, or vice versa. I've been put off the iPhone 5 by all the stories that I've read so I'm hoping that Apple pull something out of the bag with its new incarnations of the future. I've become a real convert to Apple and their systems to such an extent that we now have an iMac and Mac books added to our household collection.

By the way, hope everything goes to plan tomorrow and there are no last minute hiccups :)

Thanks for your well wishes for tomorrow...the nerves are building a little!!

In regards to the Galaxy S3 and multi tasking, I am referring to its ability to allow the user to carry out a variety of tasks without having to close utilities. For example, you can watch a video on YouTube say while also replying to a text, browsing other utilities, apps etc. I do like the way that my iPad and iPhone are synced and I am (perhaps too) comfortable with their operating systems and navigation. I am also a little bit wary of the fact that I will have to transfer a huge array of purchased music over from iTunes as I rarely use my iPod (see...like you an Apple junkie) which will be an inconvenience and the fact that I will have a no longer have ready access to the apps that I use on a daily basis. However, I have heard only good things from those that I know who own one and they always get raved about in Wired magazine and tech forums so in willing to give it a whirl. I'll report back on how I find it.

Now...to catch up on Top Gear and Walking Dead to keep thoughts of the hospital at bay a little while longer!!

Thanks Jactac...it really is much appreciated!! Technically I suppose that you're right on both counts as the hospital admission is today and the surgery is tomorrow so I'm counting that as well wishes for both. Thank you!! Hope your night shift is coming to a close and you haven't had to work too hard! Night shift at a weekend....maaaaaaan!! I don't envy that at all! :(
