The forums very quiet today :eusa-think: with all the analiser members away to learn how to use them hi tech posh car products :lol: I think rons just away so he can meet his forum love interest :lol: no doubt we will all hear about it :eusa-shhh: and how wonderfull it was to see how the professionals do it :lol: me i will just stick with me old super resin polish and a couple of old nappies :lol:

The detailing day yesterday was a great success. I got to meet other forum members as well as Peugeot UK representatives. Oh yes and my "forum love interest" We were shown how to use "them hi tech posh car products" and even how to use the cheap stuff properly. I even managed to purchase a product or two in order to continue to enjoy my hobby of cleaning my RCZ.

I spent a lot more money than you would be comfortable with and yes I am still attending the preview of the new Porsche Boxster, for which I have a personnel invitation and have taken three days off work in order to attend. 18.30 Tuesday 24th April is in red on my calender :thumbup:

Jassy - yup you called it. That was indeed the first question. I sweetened her up by taking her out for lunch and then went for a drive along some excellent twisty country roads so that I could blow the cobwebs from the car...and my brain. I may pushed the car harder than I have done to date and was pleasantly surprised by the grip the car has. Still would like greater acceleration out of turns though so had a scan of the superchips page off the link from Zombie's website. I'm just not sure how happy I am about doing this to the car. I am a chipping virgin but can't confess to have a great enough knowledge about this topic to make a considered decision. Hmmm...

Ron - will be interested to know what you and your personnel make of the new boxster ;0) (I jest...) looks like you had a good day yesterday and all your cars look wicked. I'm guessing you're the one in the blue jumper?

I'm not sure which of us had the blue jumper on. I had a works sweat shirt on, as it was a tad nippy at times. So look for the John Smiths logo. Will certainly let you know my thoughts on the new Boxster. Before that I will be visiting the main dealers to have Pearl2 serviced and see what they have to say about the rusty hubs.

Yes. I snook out of work (literally) to use the carphone. I was fortunate that it was my turn to drive as I share this task with a colleague. Had it been his turn then I wouldn't have access to a phone. Anyway I snook out, sat in the car, and called the dealer. When I put the phone down a work colleague began to repeat the telephone conversation. I had unwittingly pressed the send button on the works 2way radio by pushing it against the car seat, in so doing broadcast the entire conversation into the brewery. So much for discretion !!!!

Yes rizz a extra 25bhp/torque would be nice i think its something for the future for your car yes the grips there with the rcz and so it should be with a track and tyres that wide but i feel and always have that the steering is very vague numb if you like on the rcz,the gearbox has loosened right up on my car now but before it was a nightmare from 3rd down 2nd,and Ron THE NEW BOXSTER never ever been a porsche fan honestly as i would rather have a TTS or even better the TTRS or even the new 3.0 z4 as with all porsche's they come with a very low specced and options are extorsionately high but the revamped or evolved boxster is a improvement over the older model, they say the new this or that but germans dont do anything radical when a new model is released and most wouldnt notice the difference :thumbdown: but it would be interesting hearing your comments on it

Agreed Jassy...I used to have a mk6 Fiesta Zetec S which I graduated from to own what I perceived to be more of a...ahem..grown up/man's car. Although this car was only 120BHP, it had wondeful go kart handling and was a really engaging car to throw around. I do feel that the RCZ is a less engaging car to drive hard and the description of the steering feel being a little "numb" perfectly describes this. My gearbox still needs further loosening up as engine braking in the downshift is tricky in some of the gear changes unless you kill the revs... which kinda defeats the purpose.

As for any further work on the RCZ, this is completely restricted by finances and, sadly, this is far from limitless and does involve savings up. So...for now...the steering wheel is the object of my heart's desire for the car and will be banking money towards that. :eusa-think: I guess I am very much the kinda guy who, if he wants a thing, he wants it there and then but I am figthing to curb this compulsive spontaneity!!
