Yeah m8 I'm sure all will be good.
I'm still waiting to hear back from Fords, the interview went good (I thought) so no news is good news, as they say :eusa-think:

It was my last shift yesteday at BPI, it felt strange clocking out for the last time after 31 years :?
Got a big xmas and redundancy party this friday, be great to "express oneself " too EX MANAGER without fear of being sacked
Just gotta make sure I dont end up in a meat waggon again, cos Mrs H has promised to leave me there this time :?
I dunno mun the xmas sense of humour is dying out

Now as for spending my redundacy on pearlescent, (I gotta a funny tast in my mouth even saying that word ) I would rather stick with Peeling Opal, in fact even if my whole paint starts to shed its skin like a geriatric lizzard it will still be brighter than Milky Pinky Pearl.

Talking of geriatric lizzards, I bet Ron is shaking in his zimmer reading this.

If I dont get the chance to pop in over the next day or so , EVERYONE have a great xmas .

ps, If I'm not in here over the next month or so please send all correspondence to HM Prison Swansea

Jassy m8 if you decide to visit me dont wear a kilt cos a locked up taffy who has not seen some wool for a while can be a bloody handful :D

MERRY XMAS.

I'm sure you are right jassy but I ain't quite so sure that Donna would say the same about you  and jactac Pearl white would only confuse you. After all you don't see too many brilliant white sheep!! That exhaust pipe could prove tricky after you'd had a drink  So wait till the New Year and get your faulty cheap opal resprayed

I hope for your sake that the new job works out for you. Thirty one years service is a thing to feel very proud of. Few people achieve that, for what it's worth, I think that it speaks volumes about both you as a person and you as an employee. I personally think that you should dismiss Ford from your thinking process and consider your application as being unsuccessful. I say this as I believe that the chosen applicants tend to hear rather quickly after the interviewing process and the rest only after the positions have been filled. This way you will avoid any more disappointments and you may even be pleasantly surprised if I am wrong. As for venting your spleen with you former bosses, I feel that you should avoid this, but show them how successful you have been obtaining a new position and how much you are looking forward to spending your unexpected windfall/redundancy. Two reasons why I advice this approach 1. You may one day require a reference from them and 2. It would give you more satisfaction having one over on them. I guess I could add a third, that being Mrs H. won't abandon you. Possibly a fourth, you won't have to endure a visit by a mad Scot teasing you with his kilt! I also agree that your new found wealth should not be squandered upgrading your car by getting the correct paint colour applied, for the reasons stated in an earlier post

Have a safe and restful Christmas and New Year if you don't frequent the forum beforehand.

But most of all good luck in your new job and be proud of what you achieved with BPI

^^^ Jactac I can only endorse what Ron has said so eloquently. 31 years is indeed a very long time to be employed with one company but you are on the brink of a new chapter in your life and it's time to be looking forward to new challenges that lie ahead. I hope that it all works out well for you and your family and that 2012 is your best year yet.

I know we haven't always seen eye to eye this year but I'd like to think that is all behind us now and that one day you will come round to the right way of thinking .................... Pearl White is definitely best :D

All the best

The "faulty cheap Opal" as you put it is in for the the paint problem after xmas, and i strongly suggest that you get the Multi Coloured Patch Work Pearl done the same time, afterall Ron you have mentioned the different shade problems on more than one occasion :sleeping-yellow:

Oh it would be nice (NOT) to have money and be wise like Sir Ron. :eusa-whistle:

Merry Xmas wise one, let the force be with you

All good valid points Ron (except the paint bit).

Apparantly Fords can take up to 12 weeks to respond after interviews, why, i do not know ? And In all honesty i'm not holding my breath for Fords, far far too many applications, something like 4700 replies for 50 vacancies.

Your probably right in saying i should bite my lip at this works party (Mrs H has already warned me)
My "saying it as it is" attitude has got me into problems before, however i'am the sort of person that feels better when i have spoken my mind..

I'll just stand in the corner chewing on my lip whilst watching all the false smiles and handshakes

Then hit Swansea's Wind Street and let the real party begin, i've had a warning about this too from Mrs H.

I too tend to say what I think and tend not to think before I say it. Like you I have been in hot water far to many time to remember as a result. You know that alcohol will loosen your tongue so go to the party in a positive frame of mind. You have a job as well as some unexpected extra cash be happy about that and it may just help you to bite your lips. :eusa-think:

Oh well the works party passed without incident, mainly because very few of the management turned.

It was a good night allround, apart from when one of my mates fell over hitting his face badly on the ground, which ended up with him staying the night in hospital and having a broken nose and a few stitches. :(

Mrs H not happy with me on xmas eve because i had the hangover from hell, :x
She can't see why all the lads had to go out at 5pm and come home at 5am, i tried explaining that i've been doing 12 hour shifts for 31 years and it's just a force of habbit, :D
She replied " *%+"^*$+*?><*/ "
Dont think the new mop and iron was a very good bridge builder that i proudly gave her on xmas day either :eusa-think:

Looks like I had better take her out on News Years Eve to make up :eusa-think:

Glad your party passed off without too much incident, although sympathy to you friend that fell over. Not the best way to start Christmas.

I don't suppose a mop and an iron was ever going to be a good idea for a present. Still, it's a perfect 'set-up' to give her the real present now. You know the sort of thing - diamond necklace, all expenses paid round the world trip, brand new RCZ all of her own, etc., etc. ;-)

As you say "not the best start for the new year" How much of an inconvenience was it all ? Did you phone the AA ? Go for a conti if you intend to keep the car.

The big question that needs to be answered though jactac. Did you take Mrs H out last night ? If so was it a success ? Did you get forgiven for Xmas eve hangover ? So many questions I know, but there is nought like a bit of nosiness is there? (you see I just can't help it)

Yeah Ron I took Mrs H out , showed her the romantic side of me, bought her a bag of cheese & onion crisps and a crab stick !!

Well it was new years eve afterall.

Do you know, and i'm not kidding, I still feel a bit groggy after my night out last week with the lads,

It must be my age :eusa-think:

As for my puncture, the screw has gone in just on the edge of the sidewall ,where the tread and the sidewall meet , so i've left it with the tyre company because apparantly there is a repair that can be done if the damage is not on the actual face of sidewall, the guy reckons that theres only 1 other repairer in this area that do this type of repair, probably just giving me a bit of sales banter but i dont care as long as he can fix it, so fingers cross :eusa-think:

Didnt bother with the AA, just threw the spare on, I was in Morrisons car park when I noticed the flat , it was p*****g down though, so I was not in the best frame of mind when the fella who parked up next to me asked the most stupid and irritating question...... "GOT A PUNCTURE HAVE YOU ? "........... :x

"No m8 it's new years eve and it's raining, I always come here this time of year in the effing rain and swap all my wheels around"

"Catcha next year m8, but only if it's raining ok" :eusa-whistle:

Bite your lip jactac bite your lip .........................................
