Well who would have thought it. Been into hospital and had a stent fitted and am now back home!!! Bish bosh in and out :thumbup:

A stent is a tiny little tube that is made from a material that resembles chicken wire. This is inserted (in my case) via the artery in my wrist and with the aid of imaging is directed to where the coronary artery is blocked/restricted. This area is opened up by inflating a balloon and popping the stent into the location. This then acts as a tunnel supporting the collapsed/blocked artery and allows the blood to again travel through without restriction :thumbup:

Cheers. Had one done myself four years ago following a couple heart attacks, on that occasion they went in through the groin :thumbdown: Much more painful afterwards that my wrist seems to be :thumbup:

Yeah, my Dad had one by the groin route. - Not very dignified but did the trick!

Pleased to know that having one 'installed' via the wrist is not too traumatic.

Are you going to accept the transfer that was offered? can you still get redundancy if you accept it but later choose that you don't like it? My thinking is that you seem to be in a bit of a specialist field (no sheep/lovers in this field) so anything closely related to what you do going locally will have the entire former workforce of BPi putting in for it. I think that I would be tempted to take the transfer, B&B locally and travel home for the weekend. This route keeps you in work earning an income as well as shows commitment to potential employers as well as keeps you out of competition with your current work colleagues. Allow things to settle down (Ie BPi workers get new jobs) an then see what is going within commuting distance from home. Or if you like the transfer, move away from your beloved sheep (visit them at the weekend) and buy a house closer to your new place of work.

Well Ron the relocation is still an option, but in all honesty i'm trying my best to find something closer, personaly i think a 16 hour day is a bit too much to ask.
I have looked at B&B and again at my age i really dont want to start living away from home, if i were younger, single ect then i would probably go for it .

I did have an interview last week with a localish company and have been asked back for a second interview, tomorrow (thursday) so fingers crossed :eusa-think:

I also have an interview today, in an hour with another locally based company (Japanese firm) doing a simular type of process to what i have been doing, but this will be less pay starting off and a totaly different shift pattern , having said that i do fancy a complete change to what i have been doing for the last 30 years.

So anyway i'm getting my real lambs wool suit out of the chest , splash on some Brute, and learn Japanese in an hour, :lol:

A Japanese talking taffy dressed in lambs wool, smelling like a tarts hankerchief , i cant fail :?

Too late in seeing this post jactac. Was too busy catching up on Torchwood. Good luck all the same with the Japanese. Raw fish rather than lamb, not too much for you to adapt to. I have the quack tomorrow as you receive your second interview. All the best for both.
B&B don't knock it mate. If all else fails, give it a go. Been there done it and it wasn't all bad. You tend to look forward to and enjoy the weekend all the more. Major downside...... leaving again afterwards.

Well interview No1 yesterday was with a Japanese company that extrude and paint most of the plastic components for Honda and Toyota as well as other big car manufactures, things like dash boards, door handles, lights, everything plastic really thats on or in a car.

The interview seemed to go ok, until they explained some of their Japanese working policies, like no talking on the shop floor, put your hand up to go to the toilet, all components MUST be within 6 inches of reach to yourself, in other words anything that your using for a particular job must be at hands reach.

They have actually worked out how much time is lost if someone has to reach further than 6 inches to pick up a tool or a component :?
I must waste days and days with my hand down my kegs................. :eusa-think:

Everything has its place, they actually put yellow tape around items that can be moved so that they are ALWAYS put back in the correct position, paper bins, sweeping brush's, chairs ect ect, i kid you not even pencils are labeled and have a yellow tape around them so that the employees will always know where to look for a pencil instead of wasting time looking for one.

Personaly i think its easier to stick one behind your ear, but i'm a taff. :?

The place looked like a crime scene with outlines of objects everywhere. :lol:

Jesus if they saw how much time i waste chasing sheep up and down fields just for some "happy time" they would have an heart attack, :lol:

I cant imagine me not talking or having to put my hand up to go for a sh*t, they will have to get the yellow tape out and outline my "deposit" that i will leave on the floor, but at least it will be within 6 inches of my arse, and i will not be wasting time . :lol:

Blimey I thought Heineken was bad. They have a system whereby, staff have to "tag" so many items per period. Such as safety issues or cleanliness issues. So a puddle of liquid will get a tag, the person then enters it onto the tag register, they then return and mop up the liquid, return to tag register to remove tag status, finally returning to where the puddle had been to retrieve tag and dispose of it. Job done !!!!

YES jactac everything has its place has to be in order its Called The 5s program sort,set in order,shine,standardize and finally sustain i worked in several semi-conductor plants were this was implemented :sleeping-yellow: but no one had to put there hand up for" excuse could i go and releave my 1 eyed monster" :lol: :lol:
