Hi,
I Have, sorry, we have just ordered a 2.0 HDi. Delivery date is the beginning of september.
Now I've fought tooth and nail to get the rcz over some of my wife's choices for a new car (ford kuga, 1 series M sport etc). And although it's ordered, there's still one moaning, I mean sticking point.
Cup holders....She's bloody like a dog on heat, sorry, like a dog with a bone (better?) over the subject.

Has anyone found a good aftermarket solution?

Thanks.

Firstly Hi and welcome to the forum  . Congrats on ordering the best looking car on the road  . What colour have you ordered? Any extras?

As for cup holders sorry I'm of no help there, there is the one in the center console but as I've never used a cup holder in a car I've never looked to see if there are any aftermarket ones available.

I'm sure when your wife drives your new Z the lack of a second cup holder will pale in insignificance as the car is a joy to drive.

Welcome! I've seen car cup holders on eBay which hook into the air vents (the same way mobile phone holders do) but haven't seen them or used them in the flesh so I can't comment on how stable they are. The vents are a bit of a stretch away in the RCZ anyway, they might be impractical. I've also seen one's which hook onto the door but those all look a bit too aftermarket for my taste.

A car is about so much more than cup holders, and the RCZ is such a beautiful car I'm sure your good lady will forget about them once you take delivery

Hi and welcome. She has picked on a topic for which she can win. The cup holder is not as useful or practical as it could be. I have not looked for an aftermarket one as the interior is far too precious to have drinks or food come to that matter anywhere near it. Once she has driven it and got it on the driveway, she'll forget all about the cup holder. The diesel engine is amazingingly frugal and lively. The car looks stunning and so any little niggles will pale into insignificance

Welcome to the forum

Great choice of car I have to say. Please give us more details on spec, etc.

With regards to the drinks holder- has the RCZ got one? I have a small round hole near the gear stick but that is designed for your air freshener to fit nicely especially those California Scent ones ;). Who would want to drink in the car anyway.... ;)

Hi there, not stupid at all. my husband and I went up to Scotland with my brand new beauty at the weekend. We do enjoy a Costa en route (and do not like to drink it in the service areas, surprise, surprise!). As driver I put mine in the 'air freshner holder'. As passenger, he held his and passed me mine from the air freshner holder at safe moments.

It worked fine. The car is magnificent. Mine is a week old tomorrow and I have just passed the first 1000 miles. I adore her, the comments and looks from other drivers, passers-by etc are an indication of the beauty of the car and driving her is an enormous pleasure.

DO NOT ALLOW CUPHOLDERS TO DISSUADE YOU!!!

Thanks for the Welcomes guys.

We went for the sport in Dolphin Blue as, to put it blunt, it was cheaper! lol But I don't like leather seats so I wasn't to fussed. The only thing I may change (looks wise and in time) is the wheels as some of the 19" rims look great!

The cup holder situation is a silly one. But I can see where she's coming from as we're both from the Northwest of England, now living in Cornwall. And we do lots of 300 mile trips to see family and old friends. I have suggested that she can drive her passat on long drives which has all the storage she needs. And she gets the benefit of watching the spoiler go up and down on the RCZ in front of her

Thanks again

I eat and drink in mine
You would never be able to tell though. I often get complimented on the cleanliness of my interior lol.

Welcome to the site :) The centre console cup holder is fine for a normal can of drink, if you have a bottle of drink, then you can put it in the door pocket. Problem solved :p

My solution (although I confess that this is more a theoretical solution at this point than one that is tried and tested) is a "sooky (no spill) cup" in the manner designed for toddlers attached to a the individual via a chain worn around the neck. No spill, no mess and once forced to use it...no more moaning.

:lol::lol::lol::lol: Looks just the ticket!!! Also, dual purpose and will protect the new beauty from unwanted door dings in supermarket car parks. Think you've singlehandedly nailed the solution.
