Had the same issue with mine - really poor factory job for such a car - so, here are two images for before and after ( tomorrow i'll take a photo when on the vehicle itself ) :) The glossy color matches the factory NG4 Console color :)

I think so too - paintjob is brilliant and there's no difference in the black between the handle and the central console. Being painted professionally I hope it will last more than the original or vinyl coverage ( I was thinking about that before I painted them ) - but only time will tell :)

And I’ve just fitted some leather fitted covers which do the job but not anywhere as good as that finish.

However I know that it’ll never scratch .

They weren’t cheap either (£70) -how much for the respray?

I paid in total 26 GBP I'm my currency, which I believe is more than fine, giving the result :)

Maybe I'm going to have to drive it to Bulgaria to repaint the car to do it for a good price :D
You will be most welcome - my door is always opened to guests, so accommodation is no issue at all ;)

I've managed to get my handles off, and the silver is basle scratched, how do you get the film off to either paint or recover?

Many thanks all.

Leather covers on eBay...thought they were a rip off when they were £50...
They're now £80!

Yes I've seen them but not for me, I'd rather paint or wrap but the original silver wrap is difficult to remove.

Does anyone know what will remove it without damaging the plastic.

Many thanks

You will just have to sand it smooth

Thank you for that, I did give it a quick sanding, then I glued heat shrink tube to the handle and it came out with a rubber coating, almost identical to the leather look. It doesn't scratch and feels good in the hand, but cutting the back out was a little frustrating, no more so than vinyl heat shrink, and works ok and its all-clipped back in.

I'll take some photos soon and upload them. I think I could have done a better job with the glue, but its firm and unless your nose is up against it, it looks part of the car.

Back soon with a few pics

As promised, as said I think it could have been done better, but it was a learning curve. We'd been in the car the day pics were taken, so not buffed nor primped 😂

Thanks fortunately where my poor choice of glue left a few uneven areas they are hidden so aren't seen.

The grip feel is nice and obviously won't scratch or mark in the same way, and a little polish and there back to new.

The shrink wrap tubing is quite good as it hardens and forms around the handle so after cutting out the back it slots on. Just a shame you have to glue it prior to heating but it's solid.

I used a heat gun, but if having to take this measure, make sure the glue isn't to heat reactive and not too higher setting.

It's better than it was which is the main thing.

Folks, I went for a candy red wrap as my old painted ones had ring damage. Turned out nice for €5 :). First time doing wrap - not perfect but not bad either.

The trim on the handle has to be slightly lifted off the clips on removal it appears to be slotted onto the holders so take car not to use any force just slide upwards & they will virtually release themselves
