Well I removed ot out of curiosity with an electricians eye watching me and the fuse is fine. Replaced it anyway and still no difference. Took our own photoa to document the process.

How amazingly backwards!! So surely they could contact the original manufacturer of the part and ask whether or not there is a fuse and save all this carry on. I am astonished by this latest set of developments. Also, why does the servicing dept at G's not have a full range of tools...or able to track them down? You mentioned that you bought them from Halfords...which is about a 30 second drive from their bl**dy door!!!!!

I reckon that being a main dealer they are officially playing it by the book. Using official vendors etc for the keys.

As to why they dont stock appropriate keys I have no idea!

This is crazy, so you have to supply them with a photo of their own part?!?

Very backwards eh

I can supply them photos to avoid taking the car in.

It will be Magneti Marelli. They are a big Italian original equipment technology and parts manufacturer eg. satnavs, lights, injectors etc. Unfortunately they don't have a UK subsidiary, nor do they sell satnavs to the aftermarket.

I'm hoping that my checking last night will suffice.. there is no way that the garage will be able to dismantle the unit to check that.

I hope the garages logic is that if a fuse has blown the garage will then start to analyse 'why', rather than just slapping a new fuse in. If they don't there's every chance the underlying fault will cause a replacement fuse to blow and you're back at square one.

Figo,
I've been reading this saga from the opening day, and I'm gob smacked that you have still not had your faulty sat nav sorted.
You may of seen from my own post that my NG4 has started to play up over the last few weeks, basically the screen started flickering or going completely black, so I took the car to my local dealer, who checked out all the wiring and connections, the result was that after a few days it was getting worse, so 2 days ago I returned to the dealer and spoke to the service manager, who's now ordered a new screen and will be fitting it sometime next week if I can get the car to them.

I only have 2 weeks left of my original warranty, so expected a few raised eyebrows from Peugeot, but according to the service manager there wont be an issue, as the car is still under the official Peugeot warranty, which from reading your thread seems to be the case for you too.
So I cannot understand why Peugeot are not acting like they should be doing, and replace your faulty unit under their own warranty.

Because of what I've read here, I'm now not so optimistic about getting a new unit, and wont be holding my breath until I get my new screen installed. :?

I would think that since the issue was raised when in warranty it will be fine.

Hopefully!

Having a look through the new brochure.. the new RT6 system fitted from 2013 onwards is a £735 option ....

What was the guy on about with my satnav being £2000+ ..... Id have happily taken the cheaper / newer one!

Hmm mine is booked in for Monday for them to do some tests on it.

I'll be talking the iPad with a video of it going fuzzy, just I case I get the old "can't find anything wrong with it mate" comment.

I also have a problem with the stereo volume increase control on the steering wheel stalk. Just an intermittent fault so we'll see how we go.
