So the Warranty Technicians Diagnosis was "its dead"

He is calling Gillanders today to discuss next point of action. Still seems he is holding out for some sort of repair by the sounds of it.

Ha ... the engineer hasn't told you anything we/you/they didn't know already - what a waste of money/time!

Another call, warranty guy seems clued up and on the ball, gillanders have to check the schematic one last time before the warranty engineer will sign off on the replacement. (to ensure the garage actually checked ALL the fuses including internal ones) but there is light at the end of the tunnel and the Actual Warranty chap has been great and kept me informed..

Funny though as he has nothing to do with Peugeot.. its the same warranty company that does Jaguar and Land Rover and to be honest you can tell by the way they act that they are used to dealing with prestige cars and customers that expect more.

I don't understand.... why ANOTHER check? Bloomin' thing is knackered!! Why are the fuses being checked AGAIN?

Its only a schematic check they are doing the car wont be in. Hopefully gillys will be lazy and wait an hour then call the warranty engineer back and say - yet again - its knackered and needs replaced.

He said he needs to be maticulous as its "two thoooousand pounds worth"

Update: Called Gillanders on Saturday and Rizz's burd said that she hadn't received the go ahead from her mechanic saying that the warranty claim was a go-er to order the part. Got hold of the warranty chap and he told me he was waiting on Gillanders mechanic getting back to him.

So it appears that the "Quick Schematic Check" that the gillanders mechanic was supposed to do was not done on friday meaning that no new NAV system was ordered on friday.

So with the 10 day waiting list the likelyhood of me getting it sorted on the 15th is small..

aim for the 22nd then... Exactly 1 MONTH from when I bought the car.

Well at least they aint asking me to take the car in for another look I suppose... look on the bright side and all that.

Well...good to hear that you have retained your optimistic outlook. However, what exactly are Gillanders doing all day?! In my experience, they aren't actually all that busy but yet they continue to fail to do even the basics right!! It's the total disregard for the customer's situation that I find so utterly appalling. It's either that they simply don't care or that they employ a full staff of individuals with the memory retention of goldfish!!

All I can do is take the optimistic look now to be honest.. I've played the mediator since I got the car and have been on the blower to them nearly every day...

Dont really know what else I can do to be honest

Got a call back from the warranty guy :) he was sound as ever. Waiting on Gillanders still so hopefully he will hear back from them soon.

Interestingly he did mention that Land Rover, Jaguar - basically everyone else the extended warranty deals with - do a "Order now incase policy" meaning that the satnav would be ordered as soon as a fault is recognised and before the cause is determined.

If its not needed its just returned.

Guess Peugeot dont really put customer car as high as Jaguar or Landrover

or Fiat. or Renault.... or Skoda ....or Volvo... or Nissan

Date for getting a unit in is 17th of March. looks like my prediction of the 22nd is looking more likely.

The tech at gillanders has asked the question on a Tech forum if the NG4 has a built in fuse and until he gets an answer on that they cannot get signed off for a warranty claim.

Can anyone point me to a member who has had his or her NG4 out to confirm if it has a fuse :geek: I have no keys or desire to invalid my precious warranty by taking mine out!

What a shower

Do you know who makes the units ?

Any one got a wiring diagram for the sat nav

Most have a fuse out side the unit at the back plus another inside the unit

I believe that "peugeot technical" now consists of an internal peugeot forum where the techs can talk - and supposedly respond - to each other.

My hope is that gillys tech gets no answers as if he needs to check fuses I have to take the car in AGAIN before they will confirm and finally order the unit.

I know some has said that its not Peugeot's fault but it lies with the garage and the warranty company but from what I've been told by those too parties Peugeot is very constricting in what it allows a garage to do and when.

I feel that regardless of a slow garage the blame does indeed lie with the marque as they failed to rectify issues (I had similar concerns 3 years ago on my first RCZ) and seem to place unworkable shackles on the dealers and warranty company.

When i last spike directly with him he was going to pose the question regarding my exhaust to the tech forum. However, I had a response quicker than he did...in fact I believe that it is still unanswered so you may find your wish being fulfilled!!

had a call and the tech forum has had 43 views but no reply...being that its a £2k item no further movement will be made until an answer is given.
