Your telling me.. I feel I might just offer then to stump up the upfront cost on the basis that when it gets approved they just re-emburse me!

I wouldn't rely on that, you could end up "£2K" out of pocket. Stand your ground.

Dear Mr Jones.

Thank you for your reply last week, I decided to leave replying for a week seeing as you actioned a few points in my previous email and also to give the Garage / Warranty company time to resolve the issue.

It is with some regret that I inform you that I'm still in the same boat I was in when I contacted you back in February.

The Sat-NAV issue is on going with the warranties mechanic having inspected my vehicle on the 6th of February. He agrees that the unit is indeed faulty. Before giving the warranty claim a green light however he asked that the Peugeot garage check on the "peugeot tech forum" if there was any other possibilities either he or the mechanic at Gillanders may have overlooked.

Unfortunately there has been no response to the mechanic to Gillanders query and until this is answered the unit cannot get approval for replacement.

So with the time it takes for the unit to come (10 day back order) and seeing as its not yet been approved the issue will have been ongoing over 1 month before its resolved.

Would it be possible to perhaps direct someone to the Gillanders post on the Peugeot Tech forum so that it gets some attention?

As much as I enjoy singing to myself in the car I fear that the sanity of my passengers may be at risk.

Regarding the tyre issue I have had no correspondence from Norton Way other than the generic new customer satisfaction survey email...

Kind regards - (and hoping to have the car back to perfection soon)

Dear Mr Hepburn,

Thank you for your further e-mail.

I'm really sorry to hear that you've not had any contact and that the issue with the audio/satnav system is not resolved.

I'll contact both dealerships again today on your behalf and see what I can do to help.

Thanks again for letting me know.

Yours sincerely,

Steve Jones
Customer Relations Manager

Hi Richard,

Just an update Euan’s just checked the system again – still no replies!! Views are now at 54 so people are looking at it but it really is out of our hands now though as we can’t chase it up since no one has replied to it. As soon as we know anything else we will be in touch with you.

My Reply:

Hi Ashley.

Thanks for the update,

Would it not be possible to give the warranty guy a call and just tell him that there has been no replies saying that there are other fuses to check.

At least that way we can get the ball rolling and get the go ahead to order up the part under warranty.

Least it would then be on order and not costing gillanders anything in the mean time.

Regards

Richard

I don't understand this! How long will they wait for someone to post a reply on the technical forum? If no-one ever answers do you never get a replacement??? :wtf:

Thats the point I made to them on the phone.

Out of their hands?

Seems an absolutely ridiculous system for a worldwide company like Peugeot to have in place. . .

Reply to the previous is as follows:

Hi Richard,

I have called Alex and explained whats been happening, the only way he will authorize the part to be covered under warranty is when he knows for certain there is no fuse, he suggested you could come up with the vehicle for us to check if you would like? However we don’t have the tools to remove the sat nav unit so we will have to order them in and Euan has checked and the tools is on back order until the 18th which is Tuesday so they may come in then or they may 2 working days after the back order date. Its entirely up to yourself.

Gonna get a set of keys and have a look myself... then drop the car off to them at the weekend with the removal keys and tell them to get it sorted...

No way im taking another afternoon off work for them to pull out a head unit next tuesday....

If anyone has a picture of the back of the unit the warranty will accept that as proof of no fuses

Every part Peugeot supply appears to be on back order, permanently.

This is crazy, so you have to supply them with a photo of their own part?!?

How amazingly backwards!! So surely they could contact the original manufacturer of the part and ask whether or not there is a fuse and save all this carry on. I am astonished by this latest set of developments. Also, why does the servicing dept at G's not have a full range of tools...or able to track them down? You mentioned that you bought them from Halfords...which is about a 30 second drive from their bl**dy door!!!!!
