RCZ vs Scirocco 2.0TSI

So I had a quick run against a 2.0TSI ROC this weekend. Was a rolling run coming around a corner and there was nothing between the two cars. I presume, had I not hit rev limiter in 2nd i would've pulled a slight gap on the Roc but doubt it would've been anything major.

So this got me thinking, i never hear of other RCZ owners posting TLGP stories on the forum. Do you guys not like the odd TLGP or do you just not post them on the forum?

I had a run a few weeks ago against a Sirocco 2.0 TSI. It was a rolling run, we where behind a slower car on express road.
When the car in front of me got out of the way, I accelarated from ca 80 Kph and to my surprise my THP200 was faster. Maybe the guy had selected the wrong gear to start from, but the gap got bigger and bigger

The shorter gears and no turbo lag makes the Z deadly on rolling runs! The only reason the Z's 0-100 in the 7s range is because the 2nd shift required to get to 100.

I had a Volvo V50 T5 with Polestar software (184kw) and went against my Z, also rolling from about 60kph and even with my wife driving the Z i couldnt catch her... i was like

I took out a Corsa filled with 17 year old boys once. Success!

I get equally delighted when someone pulls ups beside me, starts revving, I rev back and give the nod and when the lights turn green pull of normally whilst they speed ahead.

I usually punch above my weight and lose :(

Post them win or lose. Its not always about winning e.g. if you lose to a Lambo, you got to experience the sound of the beast and the rate of knots at which it departed. I kinda like losing every now and then.

Me race on the street or any public roads, never

But if I did ;) I would have many successes against formidable opponents (Porsche, VXR, Jag, Aston) but would have lost to ones I never had a chance against (Ferrari 458, Porsche GT3). My car with all of the modifications done to it pulls hard, accelerates great, and handles fantastic, it is only the other 'driver' that has to be less confident in what their car can do that can make the difference between winning or losing.

This video was taken during a track day on the race circuit in Zolder (Belgium). "Vroemdag" is the name off the event and you drive around with metal handicapt children. This video was taken out of a Porsch Boxter. After 40 sec you will see my RCZ. In the next corner did't close the door and 1.9 GTI passed me but in the straight I set things wright ;)

Ah right, now I understand :)

Well I do get quite a lot of satisfaction doing this. There's a particular set of traffic lights at a T junction where I know the sequence of lights and how many seconds to the change of my lights. I always hang back a bit when I'm at the front of the queue, in the outside of the 2 lanes. You can see the car on the inside edging forward a bit hoping to get ahead of me. But I know ...... And it works every time. Catch the bite point, lights to green, away I go - leaving everyone behind. I don't break the speed limit I hasten to add. I just accelerate quickly to reach the limit.

I always come out on top apart from one particular day there was a Fiat Punto in front of me, trundling along a fairly fast country road. When an opportunity came to get past I put my foot down at exactly the same time as the Punto driver...... Only this was no ordinary Punto ! It was obviously super charged in some way and it was OFF .. Left me for dead and a roar from its exhaust. Made me laugh that did :)

That does remind me that I also do the traffic light sequence thing!

People gun it off the line, only to be stopped by the next set. Whereas if they'd not accelerated as hard the lights would have changed and they end up being overtaken due to my momentum :D

Theres a set of lights next to my house. One lane to turn right, (towards my street) and the other to go straight ahead. A lot of people go in the right lane forgetting its a right only and end up putting there foot down to pull back in to the straight ahead lane. I live sitting to go right, but keep looking at the other driver as if im going to put my foot down to get in front of them. The speed off on the green and I casually turn right :p

mere days after picking my z up i pulled up next to someone in a 208 who revved his engine and roared away at speed as the two lanes merged into one (i was not in the mood for racing away)
at the next set again out to two lanes for the lights and back to one i calmly pulled alongside, while the driver was staring at me i noticed the lights about to change, at this point i waved the pointed at the back of my car while deploying the spoiler.
he was so busy watching the back end he missed the lights changing as i slowly pulled away and got in front  cue the next couple of miles watching him frustrated behind me before i got bored and put my foot down.

he didn't even try to keep up

How did you find your Z on the track? I absolutely loved mine on the track and scared quite a few much larger much faster cars!
