Part one. Got to Carlisle, 200 miles.
The skip performed perfectly. +40mpg, AC on all the way.
Temp read 33 degC outside at various times.

Going for tea and alcohol. Tomorrow up to Oban, another 200 miles. Hopefully some good pictures.

Part two
Today is the trip in to Scotland and on to Oban.

The plan is to carry on ignoring motorways as A I hate them and B I hate them.
So we're heading east to Hexham then north through the kielder forest.
Then reconvene to discuss tactics just outside Edinburgh.

Yes a slightly longer route, but I'm driving an rcz so I SHOULD be going the long way!

Vorwärts!!

Change of plan already.
Gaffer says that's too far. So north instead.
Apparently we can come that way home.

Doesn't change the distance though!

Sounds like a great trip, I got back from the Lakes yesterday - a trip for my birthday. Funnily enough, the gaffer said the route I wanted to take would take tool long also :eusa-think:

Still had a great run up there & back, used as many side roads as I though I could get away with, but the bl00dy sat nav kept telling tales on me “do a U turn” :wtf:

The A1 was a bit of a b@ll ache on the way back down, especially when everyone was slowing down to 70 to pass a sodding plumbers van that was white & had fancy stripes on it :?

Finally made it after a massive detour due to the a7 being shut. So about an extra 30 miles.

No miles on the car today. Which is good as the exhaust started blowing on the way here and I'm not happy with it. So it's sat in the guest house carpark looking all fancy next to some dreary Toyota thing.

That don’t sound clever Ian, the standard system is stainless and is one piece front to back, I have my old standard system In the garage if you need a part let me know you can have it, but it will obviously need welding on.

I've got an Ulter sport on. I think it's the branch off for the RHS tailpipe that's started blowing.

I'll take it for a check over when we get home.

Just been to the sealife sanctuary outside Oban. Watched some very amusing seals being fed.
Then went for a drive up to fort William, now back at the guest house. Going to brave the rain and hunt for ale.

There is also a motor spares shop that sells Poorboys detailing products. Might go for a snoop round.

Visited the local Weatherspoons.
Ok not fine dining but you know what to expect.
Had a pint of Doombar and a plate of chips with melted cheese and smoked bacon (could have eaten another)

Now going to look in the autospares shop around the corner.

Maybe buy the car a treat.

Looks like it's stopped raining too!

Today we are in Tobermory, largest town on Mull.
Very pretty little port town.

It's a 50 minute ferry crossing, then about 45 minutes on a bus.

The bus ride was interesting, single track most of the way, in a double decker.
Not sure we got above 30 miles an hour the whole way.

Back in Oban, had a wet afternoon but now it's lovely.
Just been out for tea and eaten ice cream in the harbour.
