Does anyone have any accurate figures for part exchange prices?
Last month I was considering changing my RCZ (Dolphin Blue 156 GT, Oct 2010, 4000 miles, showroom condition) for the automatic version. I contacted my local main Peugeot dealer, who was less than enthusiastic, but said he would phone me back with a PX value. Surprise! he didn't phone. I contacted him the next day and he said he didn't want my car as he would be unable to sell it!
I contacted the dealer where I purchased the car and he offered a PX price of £17000 against the automatic version. I did not accept, as I thought this was much too low. This amount equates to a loss of £6470 on a purchase price of £23470 that is 27% in only 9 months.
I have checked the prices on the Wisebuy site and they quote a PX of £17500 or a "Trade" £16829.
Is it just me, or are these very poor prices, and why would a Peugeot main dealership be unable to sell a low mileage car in perfect condition with only 4000 miles on the clock?
I am very unimpressed with the Peugeot dealer network, and will never buy another Peugeot.
If any others have had similar experiences I'm sure we would all like to know.
