Aloha from sunny South Africa. I recently bought a Peugeot 207 CC and discovered that the dipstick also pulls out like 100mm and then simply gets stuck, so I opened the sump to check it out. I discovered that there is a bad design in the dipstick guide setup, it looks like when you insert the dipstick that it can miss the hole that leads to the bottom of the sump and end up somewhere in the oil pump chain that can bend and break the dipstick backwards.. I found the end of my dipstick missing and the tip of the wire spring bend back 180°. Luckily I didn't try to force out the dipstick as it was caught on a plastic guide that can break with enough force. This is a terrible design flaw and I can see it happening again. I think I will keep the top end to close the dipstick hole and keep the new dipstick in the trunk and only use it to check the oil. Hope this helps some of you
