NEED HELP! - possible engine problems and codes?

The wiring faults are easy but concentrate on the main problem at the moment.

Dont what ever you do throw money at a problem hoping it might sort it out.

Has the timing chain top rail been checked yet? Like I said, check that and come back to me.

We need a starting point and thats it :crazy:

Very generous to offer advice etc but from what I've read so far I'd say the OP doesn't have the confidence to start tinkering without a very basic step by step guide starting right at the beginning of what needs to be done. :roll:

UPDATE:

Hey he guys so just letting you know where I'm at. So I took advice and too it to an independent Peugeot specialist a place called Just Peugeots in Darlaston. They said £25 for a diagnostic and then if the problem is a timing chain kit it's looking about £400. A lot more.reasonable. it's booked in for next Tuesday. Is there anything I should be asking / checking when it goes in to get work done. Also what is changed during a timing chain kit replacement, what's part of the kit?

Hi, glad you’ve got your timing kit changed hopefully you can now resume enjoying your car again, the kits you’ve shown are generally what is fitted and yes some do change the VVT sprockets.

Hi Guys, sorry but have been missing. I had surgery on my arm a few months ago and last week broke the f...... plate into 4 pieces.
Moved a trailer, caught a wheel in a rut .......Not my best decision.

Anyway, has this solved at least some of the problems and got you a bit further forward than you were?

Hey Robrac. Well current update us that the car is at a Peugeot specialist as we speak. But now they said they cannot get into the cars computer system and believe that the Peugeot dealership may have blocked it. Is this a real thing or not? But they suspect timing chain etc but said they cannot scan it. So not to sure now???

Are they using Peugeot planet or something else?
Not a lot of gear plays nice with Peugeots.

timing chain is obvious, start it from cold. If it sounds like a bag of spanners being thrown down a flight of stairs = Timing chain/tensioner.

Don't confuse this with the hideously noisy injectors. The timing gear is far left hand side.
From under the bonnet, obviously.

Not too sure I'll try ask them . Yeah indo believe it'd timing chain but I guess garage wants to diagnose them selves just incase if I get work carried out and it's not they have the excuse "well this is why we wanted to diagnose it ourselves"

You know when everything is happening to your car. So I spoke with Peugeot specialist and he said he just cannot get into my cars system. He said he is using Planet and also Diag and for some reason it doesn't want to read. Which basically he is saying even if they do the timing kit and chain he cannot get into the system to basically reset and sync it back up is the issue. I called Peugeot to see if there has been some type of block put on the and they didn't really seem to get what I'm saying, which I would take it to be blocks cannot be put on but mentioned.maybe the garage is using an aftermarket system. So where the I go from here I'll never know. He also said he has 5 of these and his system is perfectly fine and that he just did an 11plate Peugeot 308 which is same engine and his system worked fine.

UPDATE: Called another peugeot dealership garage and for a timing chain kit they say £960.00 but for another diagnostic is is another £100.00 I have already had a diagnostic from another dealer but I net they are going to say they need to run their own checks to be sure.

I wish I lived near some of you guys prices seem high down here.

£960.00 seems a lot... I wonder what is included in that kit and how much of that is labour :eusa-think: Maybe vvt gears are included in this kit so that is why the price is high :eusa-think:
