2retro is actually Phillip Glenister, so his mate must be John Sim.

Indeed.

And the older you get, depending on your natural curiosity, the more you realise that there is such a huge amount left to learn and not enough time left to learn even a small part of it.

Kerry, I refer to the photos of your exhausts here. Im presuming the exhaust on my GTi is the same as the R. Anyway, my exhaust is black on the inside rim because I presumed it was a hard plastic material but now those photos of your exhaust makes me think that my exhaust is sooty aswell.
Looks like I’ll be out with the metal polish at the weekend... :eusa-whistle:

They are probably the same. The inside does have some kind of black coating / paint on them. I just prefer them polished up as they give more bling ! You would probably need the drill and cone attachment to polish the insides up. Even with that it does take quite a long time and some of it is stubborn to remove. A bit of wet and dry is needed too for the very edge inside. A clean inside the pipes regularly keeps them looking good

I thought it looked too nice to be wrap. I’ve seen the process done on TV, it certainly looks the business on the mirror caps
