Awww...you guys (*blushing*). Thank you for all your kind words and support, I can't tell you how much I appreciate them. You're all simply awesome!

RCZ1, I won't directly be in the classroom for the most part but will still have plenty of opportunities to engage with schools and pupils and my hope is to deliver something much better for them both than currently exists. I want (amongst other things) to create many more opportunities for youngsters, greater recognition for their achievements in order to raise motivation, engagement and confidence while equipping them with transferable skills that can be applied in a range of settings. I'm excited about getting started and have a rather grand vision. I'm determined to realise it!!

In other news, Gillys phoned me today to tell me that the exhaust was now fixed (somewhat easier than replacing the entire exhaust unit as they had initially demanded) and have FINALLY discovered that the mirror fault relates to faulty motors inside the units. Oh...my...days!!! I did suggest this or wiring being the problem back in January!!! Anyway, apparently the motors are on order and are available for next day delivery so they hope to get my car ready for collection tomorrow. Can't wait to hand over the 308 because, now that the smell of dogs has gone, the aroma of stale cigarettes seems to permeate every book and cranny!! Bleurgh!!

The original idea of reverting to OEM was always utterly ridiculous and simply demonstrated their absolute ineptness. How an outfit like this believe that they have the knowledge or experience to command the rates that they charge devys logic.
Pleased that your own diagnosis was the solution and demonstrated what utter bafoons they are.

Mr Rizz I truly belief that you will realise your vision. Your enthusiasm is truly a breath of fresh air and you are obviously very passionate about it. How I wish the teachers were filled with such passion when I was at school. A master plan you have which bodes well for future generations. Let's hope that they fully embrace the opportunities coming their way :)

Good news finally, on the car front too

Well...I finally have my car back and everything FINALLY appears to be resolved. The replacement heat wrap has silenced the awful rattling sound and the mirror motors have been replaced. Thank The Lord that's over!!

Peugeot finally responded several days later to say that they had phoned Gillanders and had heard that everything was now fixed. That was that. Weren't apologetic nor did they mention anything about the confusing servicing instructions/varied servicing approach by dealerships. :( I have resolved myself to selling the car at some point in the near future I'm afraid because I have been left bitterly disappointed by yet another terrible dealership experience and I dread to think what I'll face should something more serious occur. Figo's similarly poor experience has confirmed my fears that this wasn't a one off. So I'll keep her until either Easter or summer while I try to find time to travel to find a suitable replacement. :(

Thanks RCZ1! :D

Got my early settlement costs through today, I'm calculating that after that's paid off, the RCZ will leave me with very little more than I sold my Fiesta Zetec S for! :( Hmmmm....some thought is required!

Have faith, I think you'll have trouble free motoring for a wee while now. Keep her for the summer like Figo says, get every possible mile out of those brakes! maybe see what deals are about come the next reg change? You can have all summer holidays researching your possibilities :)

We three should take an afternoon up the glens before the Zs go their separate ways.....get a pic for the calendar.....

Yep I think you should keep it for the summer and let's get that Scottish meet sorted . I understand how you feel with the treatment from your dealer unfortunately there are good and bad dealers out the for all marks . Some of the smaller dealers are sometimes the best. Just get out there and enjoy your RCZ

I dont want this to sound like im rubbing you face in it. But I went to Robins and Day in Leicester this morning to take my OHs 308cc in for its first MOT (among other things) and I must say, their service and hospitality was top notch and pretty much every employee on the floor were polite :)

So there are some dealers out there willing to help.

You guessed it . . . No they do not carry any spares, they will order them & guess what . . . . they will need the car for another couple of days to carry out the fix . . . . . .

From what the warranty company told me yesterday Peugeot is one of the only few that dont pre-order parts for customers or stock spares..

But then again PSA is not exactly flush with cash at the moment!
They should be as the Chinese have stepped in and saved the day taking a 14% stake in the company.

PSA were in deep trouble.

"Now it will have a 14% stake, as will the French state and Dongfeng, a state-controlled car company. The two new investors will put in €800m ($1.1 billion) each and existing shareholders will cough up the rest of a €3 billion capital increase. Peugeot is also finalising a deal with Santander, a Spanish bank, to prop up its consumer-finance subsidiary, which has been kept afloat by a temporary loan guarantee from the French government.

As the economic crisis spread, Peugeot, heavily dependent on France and the European Union, was stricken. As loss followed loss its share price collapsed to around €5 in 2012, before doubling last year when it became obvious the French government was seeking a rescue with Chinese help. Peugeot also reached a new flexible-working deal with the French unions and closed one assembly plant near Paris as part of a recovery plan, which will shed over 11,000 French jobs. On February 19th Peugeot announced a net loss of €2.3 billion for 2013, an improvement on the €5 billion it lost in 2012. It hopes to have a positive cash flow by 2016."

You tried hitting the backbox with a rubber hammer? If its in the box you should hear immediately. If not, continue hitting the pipe till you can pin point the rattle.
