Randles have glued the wing mirror on whilst we wait for one to arrive ... Poor Lawrence looks like he has been through the wars so I think a good hand wash and wax on Sunday

Look on the bright side nelliebear. Your new mirrors won't leave watermarks down your doors every time you give Lawrence a good hand wash and wax.

Am I missing something 0058RON? No watermarks you say? I'm forever going over that dribble of water it's so annoying and just when you think it's all dried up and take it for a spin your nicely polished side windows get a splashing from the wing mirror :)

Yes.... Rczmk you are missing something. You have one of Marcus's cast off's. Nicely cared for it maybe. An older version it certainly is. The newer ones (mine was built on 12/07/11) appear to have a fix. It don't leak water from the door mirrors!!! So nelliebear will be getting these "newer" mirrors or at least that is my assumption  Sorry Mark keep returning and drying it off and off and off

Ron,
i bought mine from Marcus just 4 months ago, would you class that as an "older version cast off " ?

I dont think Marcus would, at least i hope not anyway.

As yet i cant find any water marks and believe me i'm constantly checking.

Yes water does run down the door after the car has been washed, which is very very often, but there are no signs of the dreaded staining, and the water dries out after a short while and some drying off with a micro fibre cloth.

Are you say here that you get no runs of water after washing what so ever from your mirrors. ?

Wrong end of stick jactac. You was away sunning yourself. Mark bought one of Marcus's demo's. Hence my jocular comment. But I get no drips at all from my mirrors after washing the car. Previously I was constantly returning to dry off the drips for fear of the stain they may leave if I left the runs.

Sorry M8.
Marcus could probably throw light onto that one. Mine was built 12/07/11 and believe me whatever Peugeot have done it has worked. But hopefully Marcus or Peugeot can tell us a date. But I guess it would be difficult to say on which vehicle the first modified mirrors got attached to. BUT IT WAS BEFORE THEY GOT TO MINE!!!!

Wow. You are one of the lucky few. At least you have a decent peugeot dealership on your doorstep, All marques of cars have their problems and some cars have more than others, but you have a fantastic car. The engine noise will be sorted as will the wheels. The door mirror thing has been resolved and we are just waiting for the modified one to arrive in the UK. But none of this can stop your enjoyment of your beautiful car
If you are old enough to remember back to the 70's & 80's you will know what crap BL was turning out. The word reliable was never used. If all we have to complain about is noise or watermarks then I personally think that the motor industry has come on a long way.
So head up. Talk to Perrys and enjoy your beautiful car, There are plenty of people out there that would be very happy to have your "problem" RCZ

Hi rczmk,

As I have already said I have got a new HDI arrived on Thursday afternoon specifically so the workshop can do a back to back comparison for start up noise with your car.

There is a solution coming from Peugeot for the door mirrors...as the modified parts are not in the UK yet Peugeot havent given the details to dealers yet but I will make sure that you know as soon as we do.

I will get the service team to look at the alloys...it wasnt on the job card to be looked at when the car was last in.

best regards

Marcus

Well rczmk. What more could you ask for. Your dealer has spoken and taken action. Whereas mine joined the forum, came on and wrote...
Morning Mr Wright

Your Warranty booklet is in the Leather RCZ Wallet along with your ownwers manual which i left in the Passenger door pocket after handover , If you have anymore problems or questions please ask for myself personally

Many Thanks

So that was that never heard from him since. Filled in Peugeot quality satisfaction survey (or whatever it is called) requested dealer contact. Guess what... I have heard nothing. You are very fortunate indeed. Let Marcus work his magic and enjoy your purchase.

Hi
Marcus.
These modified mirror parts, will they be fitted to ALL RCZ's or just ones that are showing a fault presently ?
Basicaly is this issue going to classed as a recall.

It's difficult to tell on Opal white but i think we might be starting to see some residue staining on our car.
I'm not too sure what to look for because this stuff that i can see wipes off so it could just be your every day water marks .

Also after reading some other threads on this issue it seems as though very new cars have had this fix done at the manufacturing stage, so what sort of time scale would this include and would you know from my vin number if my car has had the fix or not.

thanks in advance

The latest condition door mirrors are not yet in stock. The month of August is typically when our factories and component suppliers shut down as is the case with the Magna Steyr factory where the RCZ is built. Once the parts are available we will inform the Dealer Network and at the same time ensure that this is posted on the Forum. To reconfirm, we will replace the door mirrors under warranty, if you have been experiencing the described issues. Thank you again for your patience.

Thanks Ron, i missed that thread.

With a bit of good fortune my mirrors would of been done at manufacture.

Marcus will have all the cars details and hopefully will let me know either way.
Thanks again
