Well, I think HDR happens 'in-the-camera'.
That being the case, I'm not sure it's grounds for disqualification.
Traditional chemical photographers (ones that used light sensitive paper and developing chemicals) use all sorts of techniques to make their prints as artistic as they want. In one sense, Photoshop is no different, really.
However, I think most people draw the line at making one photograph out of several different images.

Making a Photograph out of several different images is again another artistic licence and I personally don't see anything wrong with that. I've seen some fantastic images of this kind. For the purposes of the photographic competition, as long as the person posting the photo is the owner and has taken the picture(s), then it is art and should be allowed.

Ok - stand corrected on HDR & agree that all techniques can be used for artistic effect, just like choice of lens, aperture, focus, exposure etc.

I do believe that this is what the iPhone 4 does when HDR is switched on. Takes 2 photos then combines for the best possible outcome.

Nothing wrong with that Donna :thumbup: you can't turn a bad picture into a good one just by the way it's been processed.
Get it right in camera and you won't go far wrong.

Thank you so much. The car obviously gets attention, I've had quite a few lovely comments....oh and a few less complimentary ones from ...friends.... And the plate has provoked a few smiles and comments too. A great combination in my opinion....but I would say that wouldn't I .....
