hello from shropshire my name is paul and i brought a rcz 2 months ago in august. me and the wife had set about buying a used 208 gti or a rcz i prefered a 208gti at the time but my wife wanted the rcz. We had decided we wanted the 200 version if it was to be a rcz (i can only dream of a rcz'r) . So we then spent most of august looking at 3 gti's and probably 10 rcz's travelling upto 80 miles going from main agents to car supermarkets. Wow what an eye opener 1 gti was hesitant in revving probably been abused it had dents etc so i walked away the rcz's we viewed was not much better 1 in particular @ a supermarket in the inside showroom part had what can only be described as the contents of a leaf vacuum tipped inside the engine bay my wife actually said wow thats bad for a showroom the sales man became embarressed we walked again. i began to think we wont find a unabused gti or rcz until 1 evening a white 200 sport appeared at a independants it had 9500 miles on a nov 2012 plate phase 1 rcz. it was just short of 3 yrs old @ 9500 mls & there was 3 main dealer pug stamps in the book it was approx 50 miles away. i just had to go see it i would have prefered it to be a gt model but if it was as good as the add described it i would be more than happy to settle for a sport 200 model it outweighed it not being a gt as i wanted a perfect rcz. At first glance i could tell it was way better condition than all the others i had viewed i first checked the oil before starting it was light golden colored and just below max i turned the key and the car instantly came to life no tensioner noise no chain noise nothing at all i let the engine run at idle for at least 2 mins i then gave some very light revs and it purred no noise again just smooth revs. i was allowed to test drive on my own big bonus no anoying sales man i had no reason to rev above 4500rpm on the test drive i could tell the car was genuine i decided to buy this rcz and i am very very happy with this rcz i even rang the pug dealer who stamped the book after i purchased to verify the stamps in the service book the service manager at stoke peugot remembered the car and said that i had brought a well looked after car from a private owner of a similar age as myself big bonus there no boy racer or lease car.. i have owned many pugs over the years from 205 gti's 405 gtx 205 cti, 206 gti 207 gt and now a rcz luckily a friend of mine is a garage service manager and he allows me to use his ramps i then buy all my parts from pug and do servicing @ 5000 ml intervals i am in my late 40's so i dont go much over 3000 rpm these days i prefer to have a nice waxed up serviced car rather a molested racing car its my age i guess...i have been there done that etc. i am sorry for the long post but would just like to say i have found these forums very useful & its been a long time since i was a member of a car forum i think it was my 205 cti i last was a member of a forum at least 8 yrs ago. anyways hi to every one i will get some pics up asap and hope to contribute to the forum...
