Hi all, I bought an RCZ a couple of weeks ago, THP 200 in black 45k on the clock.
Lovely looking car and I was enjoying driving until the 3rd day when the coolant warning flashed up when starting the car after work. The expansion tank was completely empty so I topped up straight away with water and drove home.
The car sat at 90c all the way so I thought everything was good until I got home, I got out the car to find water dripping from the bottom.
The next day I called the dealer and explained the issue and sent him a video of the water dripping from the under the car. He said the car would need recovering back but when I asked if this is something they would do he said they have no facilities do so and asked if I had breakdown cover, I told him id check and get back to him the next day.
Unfortunately I only had road side assistance with my car insurance so they would not recover to the dealer, a stalemate then ensued as I told him I was unwilling to pay for recovery on a car ive had 3 days. This was resolved when I contacted the broker who sorted my finance out, he called the dealer having known him for many years and put pressure on to pick the car up. I got a call the next day asking for the postcode where the car was and was told they would recover the car back.. hallelujah the car got picked up.
I contacted the dealer over the next day or so (by text) and asked for an update, he replied the car didn't loose any water when he drove it back but had left it with his mechanic and will contact him for an update.
Immediately I though WTF drove he told me it needed recovering, anyway later in the afternoon after me texting again I got a message saying they had ordered the part and should have the car back the next day. The next day came and I was told the part had been fitted but was awaiting a road test and pressure test. So I waited again until the next day.
Day 3. I was told the car still leaked and the mechanic was investigating the Turbo pump and it it wasn't that the were going to "strip it down".
Day 4. Again I waited for news but nothing, I test again and this time I got back they had stripped the car and sent the head off for testing as they suspected a head gasket and I would have to wait until it came back.
The weekend passed so the Monday I asked for news, still waiting on the head to come back but was expecting it any time. Next few days went by so I called this time and he explained that the head was sent off as a precaution, he also explained how the water pump has a plastic housing and has been issues on the mini etc. He was positive I would have the car back in the next couple of days.
Again no news so I text for an update, I was told the head was back and the engine was being built back up. Couple of more days which was last Wednesday I called again and was told the car was ready and they were waiting on it being dropped off by the mechanic. Thursday, called again still waiting on the mechanic and was told he was majorly busy because of the bank holiday coming and the dealer even offer to catch the bus to get the car but if they didn't get the car back it would be after the bank holiday.
Yesterday (Tuesday) I text for an update and was told he had seen the mechanic on Saturday and they were awaiting a pipe from Peugeot and if it come back today the car should be ready... Called the broker again who said hes going to call in the showroom (Wednesday.. Today) and ask what's going on.
Today heard nothing as yet..
Id of gone down my self but its in Stockport and I don't have a car and really don't want to take time off as they shut at 5pm.
What do you guys think, am I being fobbed off, ever heard of head gaskets going (car ran perfect other than loosing water when the turbo cooling pump was running).
Am I going to have major issues with this car, its really put a massive downer on owning an RCZ.

Any thought would be appreciated.
Thanks
