Hi There,
I've driven a RCZ THP 200 for a total of about 1200 miles as a hire car from Avis Manchester (same price as a boring car  ) and am now just about to put my money down on a nice RCZ-R ex-demo. With heated seats.... which IS important here in the winter ;) . Or at least, Swiss-paperwork willing I am

Out of curiosity, just had a quick look on the Peugeot Swiss site.
Looks like they DO have another option for seats in the R. They have the type we recognise and a Nappa leather option. My German isn't great, but I think this is an electric/heated option.

HI All, and thanks for the welcomes! Indeed, the leather seats can be specced with heaters here. Even in Bern we had -25C the winter before last, I don't want to freeze my *ss off! There are 3 ex-demos in Switzerland with the right spec, my favourite is red with matte black roof rails... fingers crossed I get there before anyone else!

Excellent Colour choice!! I find my seat heaters quite useful here and the temp barely drops below freezing so I would hold out for the seat heater option

I hope you manage to get that colour choice- no bias on my part :eusa-whistle:

Up here in Yorkshire it tends to get a bit on the chilly side, and that's in July
I have the heated seat option too & they are very nice indeed.

Looking forward to seeing your pics.

Hi All,
Finally picked up the 'R' today, and she is beautiful. Off down to the vineyards around lake Geneva tomorrow, will see if I can take some pics,

Dang - but heated seats a great option for the R.
Looking on the Swiss site it looks like they give you the option of the standard (and excellent btw) RCZ seats or what looks like the red trimmed seats from the 'Carbon' range (an 800CHF option, eek).
I love my R seats, but, it the weather doomsayers in the press are right, my bum cheeks will be frozen to them this winter.

Indeed you can spec those others seats for the R when ordering in Germany/Switzerland/Austria (and maybe other sales regions). Those are the standard RCZ leather seats. You get electric setting too.
But then you drop those excellent R seats. I tried them in an actual R car and I didn't like them as much as the R seats. They do not provide the grip you need when riding the R. I'd take an cold bum everyday over this option.
And having had a look at the upholstery of those R seats, upgrading to heated looks like a doable option. Maybe I'll do that. Do have some heating mats sitting over here and waiting to be put in.

Yep, that's what I figured mate.
Its a bit naughty of them to charge 800 Swiss Francs for what are in effect standard seats (with red stitching) - even if they do have the heating elements.
Those 'R' seats are great aren't they. I say I like the option of maybe choosing heated seats, but in reality like you I can live with some discomfort in winter for a few minutes when its cold.
I reality something that would be of more use would be a heated gear knob.
Interesting what you say about adding heating elements to the R seats. Thought this would take some butchery to get them in, so will be interested to see how you get these fitted and linked to main wiring harness.
As an aside, one minor niggle with the R is that for some reason you also lose that Automatic tilting of the mirror in reverse gear for parking. Some have suggested its linked to the total lack of the electronic controls in the seat, with associated memory settings.
Parking can be a right royal pain what you have those big expensive 19" diamond cut wheels. I know you can buy alloygaitors, but you shouldn't really need to.

Actually, beg to differ, but when it's -25C here, certainly the heater in my old Subaru would take 20 minutes to get the cabin up to temperature - and during that time the heated seats were about the only way to keep your body temperature up. Of course I could have worn ski gear and stayed warmer, but it does look a bit funny visiting a customer!

You're right about the "no-tilt" mirrors, that's a slight annoyance, I liked those on the 200THP. Didn't notice until reversing into my carpark space in the dark this evening,
All the best
M

A heated gear knob? I'm in for it!
That bloody thing feels cold when going for the first gear changes on a chilly morning. Can't imagine how it must feel at -25°C even if you never have those low temperatures inside the car. Gloves are a must then!

About those tilting mirrors. It is a nice feature I enjoy on my Lexus. But in the R I already got used to it an instead of the mirrors looking down I use the RCZ's hips (or bum) to judge where it reverses to. It works pretty fine. I have to park my car every day in a narrow parking space.

By the way, I already had the first service on my R (already close to 14000 miles). Will post details as soon as I get from my business trip. And my R has already seen UK roads.
