Yeah I had this coming down the A74(M) at Lockerbie
The engine management light came on, car went into limp mode (fault code P1471).
It turned out that the rubber diaphragm in the throttle body (aka 'air doser') had split, allowing oil to spew down the front of the block and onto the alternator* and elsewhere.
An air doser repair kit, including a new diaphragm, is available, but it is more cost effective to replace the complete air doser unit (OEN: 9655233680)
A replacement air doser (aka "electronic throttle body") from AliExpress costs £31.80 including VAT and shipping. It arrived in a couple of days.
Easy DIY job. Some vacuum pipework and electric wiring to move aside and then seven fixing bolts to remove (one hidden, iirc)
Refitting being the reverse of removal.
* Probably a good reason to get that oil leak fixed ASAP.
