The below pic might help you show others where your leak is if you circle the area. Personally I stay away from diesel, just look at the amount of stuff they crammed on it.
(Was about to paste in a petrol with the different spots on the rear, then re read you were diesel, silly me).

..also , just infront of dipstick, mine appears to have a throttle body, so the leak is a few inches in front of dipstick and few inches to right behind what looks like a throttle body - not very photo friendly area, however I can try - how do i upload images plse?

I can’t help you with identifying the leak, but mind the rad fins with that light.
Guessing you figured out uploading.
Just below the box you type a response/query into there is a box saying Attach files, click on it and options come up
Photo library (stored on you phone or pad)
Take photo. Just as it say, take and drop pic straight in.

thks for pointing out rad fin vulnerability - wasnt first thing on my mind having just got car back from 1/100 garage....

Getting photos easily from nokia android phone to windows 10 pc was a challenge

leak is wetting front of engine block from airflow meter height and just behind it

'mechanic' changed his mind from stop valve to a 3 initial part and then entire throttle body - charged £145 + fitting and vat and did nothing with regard to leak

engine ticking / slapping - changed cambelt kit, breaking crank bolt and noise still there

complete AH to deal with, genuinely scary way of treating customers,..many might say

this device on back of throttle body, what is it and can it and its seal be replaced without replacing throttle body to which it is attached?

Is it a vacuum operated cut off valve or similar - proper description / part no.?

looks like the Air Doser Valve, which can leak at custom designed gasket to throttle body ( similar variants may fit apparently) - can be just plain leak or due to excess pressure in crankcase breather system? - How is this rectified?

Anyone done these jobs? Prefer not to have a leak in my as new engine bay!
