Goodbye RCZ.

I've just traded in my RCZ for a Focus ST-3 with the optional 275bhp mountune kit. After nearly four years of driving my RCZ I felt it was time for a change. I still love the rear end of the car and the sweeping lines but I have had too many issues overall that have ruined my enjoyment of ownership. This was my first ever Peugeot and it will probably be my last.

I have experienced terrible service and damage to my car from my local dealership (Not the original dealership that I bought it from who were always very good), terrible customer service and too many little niggles. I know many people are very happy with their RCZ's and I hope you all continue to enjoy your cars. I will still smile every time I see an RCZ on the road, however you will probably be in my rear view mirrors and disappearing rapidly!

So I guess it goodbye to this forum, which has always been an enjoyable place to visit, good luck and health to you all.

Hi Hart, so good to hear from you and sorry to hear that you also experienced poor service at the hands of a Pug dealership.

The Mountune ST-3 is certainly a weapon. What colour did you opt for? I wish you and the new motor many happy miles together.

I've gone for the spirit blue. Would have loved to have the tangerine scream but didn't want to stand out too much when the right foot is planted! :eusa-shhh:

I'll probably pop into this forum every now and then to see how everyone is getting on. Must admit I have not posted regularly for quite a while but I still visited every couple of weeks.

I think you've chosen well. That's the colour I'd have gone for too. I'd be interested to learn of how you get on with the Mountune version. I also want to know if I can still beat it in the VXR so that I don't end up with egg/ST fumes on my face.

ST 0-60mph in 5.7 seconds with the Mountune kit.

I thought I had a big smile on my face when I first drove the RCZ. The ST has a fantastic exhaust\engine sound which just makes you want to keep planting your right foot. Absolutely love it. This is a proper drivers car. Fuel economy is pants, but you are never going to get good economy on a 275bhp car. Blast down the M6 this afternoon returned 19mpg :eusa-whistle:

The RCZ looks fast, but it isn't! A bit of a sheep in wolf's clothing.

Maybe bigmac.
Well as you know, in my case my RCZ's faults are less niggly, and more plain falling apart.

It's the fastest car I have ever owned, and as you say, compared to almost every hot hatch, the Z looks fast, and for the sake of @ .5 of a second, I know which car I would rather be in.

RCZ 200 hp 0-60 7.4 seconds

Focus ST 275 hp 5.7 seconds

Big difference there.

I loved my RCZ to start with but the build quality etc just let it down. First and last Pug I will own.

Each to their own.

I have had Fords, and will never buy another.

This is the 3rd pug & maybe my last, maybe not. Never had a problem with any of them (so far).

I bought my Z because of how it looked and the unbelievable level of equipment it had been fitted with, the speed was a bonus, and certainly not a let down.

If you are happy driving round in a Focus, good on you..... Each to their own.

I have to say that the 200 isn't exactly a slouch and will trouble a number of cars in the road with those times. I'm surprised at the 0-62 sprint times of the Mountune ST though. That's 0.1 seconds quicker than my VXR. :(

Mind you, we all know that these times aren't a true measure of speed and it's torque and in gear acceleration that's a true measure of speed. News to me, was quite how quickly the RCZR accelerates in gear!! "And the 5.5sec it took to get from 30-70mph – half a second quicker than a Vauxhall Astra VXR – just goes to show which league the R’s overhaul has put it in." - http://m.autocar.co.uk/car-review/peuge ... erformance OUCH!! I'll keep that in mind if I have the opportunity to set the two against one another!

Hey Hart, i just recently traded my ST3 in for a S3 mate...and i had the Mountune kit fitted after a about year of ownership....cracking car it was in frozen white with satnav, and full drivers assistance pack, style pack and so on,peach of a engine...bit oil/fuel thirsty but nothing to be concerned with...its soooo smooth in its power delivery...with absolutely no lag....the Mountune kit makes it even better/faster...TIP....Always turn turn the ECS/SPORT button to off then there is no torque steer....and Mac only the DSG gear boxed R's are sub 5 secs but who cares about computer...times from stand still its all about how a car makes the individual owner feel

My ST3 Hart

And Matt.. STAY OFF them VXR forums.... yer TOO OLD... the FOCUS ST is a better all round car...

Lovely car Jassy. It's surprising how few RCZ owners bought another one.

I think we can forget the 0.1seconds ;)

The VXR is a great car as well. I was seriously considering one before I decided to go for the ST.
