Goodbye Pearl, hello Ruby

For what it's worth, I firmly believe that actually Peugeot have (perhaps unwittingly) significantly narrowed the gap between the models. What was once solely exclusive to the GT range has been extended across the range in a great many areas. Not in all regards but in a great many of them. Nearly all the rest, if not all of them, are also available to be specced. Now I haven't done the maths on this but I'm not convinced that the GT is quite the "bargain" that it once was, particularly if you are unconcerned by the leather seats. I upgraded the alloys further on my own GT and a great many GT owners will do the same I should imagine. In effect this means that you're surely paying quite a premium for leather seats, which, in my own experience are prone to sagging (not something that is exclusively reserved to Peugeot I hasten to add). This makes me wonder a little bit quite how much value for money many GT owners are receiving particularly if you start adding other options which are available across the range.

Asides from all of this, we all have our motivations and I think it's only right that we respect one another's choices whether they be financial or personal preference. Those are my personal thoughts anyway and are in no way a judgement on anyone. You've all chosen a cracking car regardless of model or options.

In answer to your question about how many have been sold of each model, this should answer your query.

These GT and Sport specs are just UK marketing decisions.
In the rest of Europe there are various packs that can be chosen independently of the other.
My car has all of them, yet comes with the "Sport" 18" wheels but in dark gray, which also is an option, just like 19" wheels are for any RCZ.
The one thing I could do very well without is the electric seats because they move sooo slooowly so it takes ages if you want to let some unlucky person in the back seat... :sleeping-yellow:

Mines a Mk2 hdi sport. fully loaded with all the bits except sat nav no electric seats, and as I'm the only driver that doesn't worry me, sport steering wheel and short gear stick and 19" dark technical black pack, zenons, ex Peugeot demonstrator all for £16k. did i consider a GT,, nope, very happy with what I've got thank you. and if Kerry wishes to buy a sport over a GT for whatever reason, that's her decision and really doesn't warrant any opinion from anyone.

By unique... you mean the tacky leather seats? Sorry but you are misguided in the extreme.I am sure you are a nice lady and mean well by your way of it.Just i maybe hope that folk would be honest here.?? No offence and i really mean that.

Tacky ! You really have no idea do you! The leather is better quality than anything Peugeot supply or many other marques for that matter. If you don't like the colour or design that's up to you but it's by no means tacky. You really do appear to have price snobbery going on here despite your protestations. End of.

How about as a newbie to the forum you use a bit of decorum and pay a bit of respect please. You have your opinion and you are more than welcome to air it but not to ram it down people's throats time after time as other people have their own opinions as well.

Back on track, kerry your new wheels look ace and make a huge difference. I'm pleased you haven't found that the ride has been compromised and along with your bespoke interior Ruby is an absolute beaut, keep up the good work

Well I have a GT fully loaded with 18" wheels & I love it gives a beautiful ride, my leather seats haven't sagged that's because they are looked after with the correct solutions & I'm not over weight. You are entitled to your own opinion & free to express it but please do not expect everyone to except & go along with it when they know different & have a perfectly good reason from owning one of these models & are able to contradict your statement with fact.

Get over it t44amk. You obviously have issues. I'll listen to opinions of people who don't have chips on their shoulders. Decent, well balanced, people.

Guys and girls, this doesn't appear to be going anywhere constructive so, in the hope that we can move on from this, I have (sadly) temporarily locked this topic. Please can we avoid personal attacks on individuals or their pride and joys. It really isn't pleasant, constructive nor in accordance with the agreed terms and conditions. Sorry folks but it's getting out of hand.
