The strange thing is it only happens when the car has been driven a while, when it is cold there is no clunk at all and gear changes are abit more fluid if you know what i mean.
I did have a clutch and flywheel change recently and got them to change oil to redline mtl which hopefully they did, it felt smoother here and there.
What i find strange is that once driven abit the gear change looses it smoothness and gets clunky and loud taps i sat in my friends rcz and his is quiet. Do you think it is the oil as it only happens when warm? maybe too thin?
any help would be appreciated it ruins the experience of the car i have to be so gentle with gear changes when in busy areas so no one can hear lol

if you had work done recently, go back to the garage and have them check their work.
They may not have tightened all bolts or the like.

I wrote that because it reminds me of the maintenance work that my father had done years ago on the clutch of his Peugeot 505 GRD after which it was very hard to change gear and they had forgotten to tighten the bolts and we were basically driving without clutch!
But if you can match revs, who needs a clutch?

I have checked mounts, bolts etcbut all seems ok? Car had a new clutch and flywheel 2k miles ago so I'm at a loss what's happening now?...
Finally got this resolved. I had purchased a brand new Febi Bilstein engine mount as the original has worn. So checked everything but the new mount as it had only been on the car a few months...well it was the Febi engine mount, replaced with old ''worn'' mount and clunk now gone!i have that aswell in mornings, a small knock underneath when changing gear and letting off gas etc. i mainly wanna get the gear change sound sorted that is very annoying
Yes of all the things that was the last I imagined it would be - especially as the part was Febi Bilstein which I though were good quality - lesson learned!Crikey glad you’ve sorted the problem but who would have thought a new part was the problem??
