FREE Nokia 5230 Sat Nav for New Peugeot Customers

Hi Petethefeet,

Not really ! I initially returned to the dealer drawing his attention to the Forum and the fact that it did apply to the RCZ. They subsequently responded to say that as the car was ordered in June it did not meet the criteria.

Given I am still awaiting delivery of my new Black 156 GT I am not happy. I have asked them to look at the whole forum as I still believe it qualifies. If they are adamant it does not I have advised them that I will take it up with Peugeot directly.

It might be a small issue but given there are no deals and the time I've waited I believe some flexibility is needed.

I will of course keep you all posted.

Hi Stephenm,
I ordered my RCZ on the 5th June and after several emails to Peugeot Customer services and a chat with dealer manager, they confirmed I was eligible for phone, so you are too ! (providing your a retail customer & not leasing )
The offer was originally only for June but they then extended this.

I never mentioned the phone when I brought the car, in fact the first time it was mentioned was by the Dealer saying I would be getting one - also about a week or so after taking delivery I was called back to the dealership and presented with one of the Lemans hard back books as a thank you for my dealer response feedback form.

It sounds like some dealerships are not so keen to play ball, I would just like to thank Randles of Hanley, especially Steve for the very excellent pre and post sales treatment

Rob.

we all should get a phone the RCZ is included in the offer so the dealers are not telling use and pocketing the phone them selfs.

it states in the rapor book and on the web that if order by the 30th sept you are valid to get one.

Ordered in June, nothing mentioned and to be honest I didn't even know about the offer until I read this a few days ago. We picked up our RCZ on Tuesday this week and nothing was mentioned then either. My wife dropped in a box of chocs to them today (they have been excellent dealers) and the manager said "oh, by the way we have a phone for you here, we forgot to give it to you tuesday" and gave her a brand new nokia5230! I love our dealership :)

Hi there,

Having eventually received the Nokia phone, can anyone please clarify as to whether I have to download the maps and apps before using.

Sorry, i am new to this and would be interested to know, thanks.

I'd also like to know whether it purely uses GPS like a stand-alone sat nav or whether it dips into 3G. I plan to give the phone to my wife, but we don't have a data contract, so would be charged every time it kicks into 3G mode.

Ordered my RCZ at the end of May and going to pick it up on monday - found out I'm getting the phone whilst signing all the bits of paper today. Didn't have to ask and wasn't expecting it. Don't need it so I think I'll just pop it on ebay to pay for the super-polish-guard job I'm going to have done.

I ordered an RCV at the beginning of Nov and got offered this phone. I did deliberate on the Sat nav option for a while though so may have been a discretionary sweetner to make me order an RCZ sooner rather than later and not wait 4 months for the built in sat nav. Due to get the car soon so expecting the Nokia at the same time...

Interesting comment stroch on the 4 month wait for the sat nav option. Apart from the automatic gearbox (it's really the wife's car) the sat nav was the only extra we ordered. The car was ordered in mid October and was first due to be delivered in mid December yet is already built and hopefully on its way from Calais (with Mlbblue's car).

So why would you have to have waited four months for the built in sat nav?

Cheers

Dave

It was really the difference between the times that made me ditch the built in sat nav. I think I may have got lucky  on the order since I only ordered at the beginning of November and I am getting delivery tomorrow 19th and could have got it on 16th had I sorted my finance quicker.
With Sat Nav though it would have to be built and that delayed things, critically until the New Year with VAT going up then (for the whole car) and the pricey option cost of £1500 I didn't think it worth it overall. Perhaps 4 months was a bit of an exageration, but it would have clearly been into the New Year not tommorow so I ditched the sat nav. My last car got broken into  cos I left the Sat Nav bracket en prise. That's why I wanted the built in option. But without it, I sure as heck ain't going to leave brackets sitting about!
