It would be nice if they changed the wide mouth on the front end next year when DRL's become obligatory. The current front corporate nose/mouth now looks dated compared all other angles. Hopefully a simple, inexpensive unbolt-bolt on job.

Most other models have the DRL's already as standard. Maybe we have to wait until next year.

Hatman :) your rcz has drl though not led drls realisticly speaking they are not drls a real over sight by peugeot or was it????? ;) have you seen the new 308 drls leds they are naff and not very bright at all and the light output hot spot on them is very narrow indeed i would go as far just cheap looking.as for the corporate nose i really like the rcz nose compared to the new 308 as i parked my car right next to one at work with the new facelift with led drls.if you want to facelift your car just put the feline black mesh grille on it and it instantly changes the front

your forgetting the rcz is french and they do facelifts even if small ones very frequently and if you class that as a facelift then it will happen in the next 12 to 14 months

Peugeot 407 was never updated went into production in 2004 and ended in 2010.

Peugeot 207 was not updated until 2009 and that went into production in 2006.

Peugeot 308 was not updated until 2011 and that went into production in 2007

and of course the RCZ started production in 2010 so we have ages till that point comes near.

Why, we already have DRL's as standard now?

Mine has sidelights, as every other RCZ I have seen, I have yet to see one with them as they cannot be switched off whilst engine is running. I believe someone else has mentioned this, maybe my interpretation is wrong?

They can be set to come on with the ignition or not as you choose the settings. As you know mine are set to be on. Personal choice

... and mine were set to off by default when I got the car, but I've since turned them on for the gloomy winter days. They are brighter than the sidelights, which surprised me.

So what you are saying is that the auto lights have this feature!

Explanation is required.

they are not LED drls they are a cheap and crap looking bright yellow sidelights that have no place in a £20,000+++++++++++++++++ car end of like a whole lot people including the press have said peugeot gave up a bit when designing the front as they thought they had done enough everywhere else on the car. the headlamps are archaic in design and function and should have led drls and xenon headlights as standard especially on the gt trim just like audi put them standard on the S line version of the TT.

Thank you, things have become very cloudy.

Side lights as I thought as they do not operate in daylight because whilst in auto mode it would not be dark enough. But, you can switch your side lights on manually during the daytime. DRL'S operate when engine is started and switch off when the engine is off not switchable surely.

Something that I understood previously, but now with your input just does not seem to add up.

Sorry to hijack this post.

I am confused by your question. What is it that you are asking? You saw that I had replaced the DRL's for LEDs on my car. You saw them in operation. Mine came on automatically when I started the car. However if I went into the "setup" I could alter the default, so that the DRLs did not come on at all
In which case the bulbs would revert to being a less bright side light operated by selection of the side light from the light stalk on the steering column

I think that is where the confusion lies Ron. Your sidelights do not come on whilst in auto mode during day light. You have to turn your lighting stalk one click anticlockwise for them to switch on in daytime. With DRL's this is not possible, I am not questioning wether or not they are LEDs, what they are not is DRL's as they are sidelights, simples.

It must be me !!!! Your side lights and your DRLs are one of the same bulbs. So you either have them as DRLs selected via the cars set-up menu or alternatively you select DRLs off, in which case the bulbs will then only operate when selected manually and will be less bright than had they been illuminated automatically as DRLs

Right we're there at last, that's cleared that one up, I think.
Come on Hatman. Spit it out. What is the confusion ? I am more than happy to accept that I have misunderstood, but I'm puzzled (genuinely) by exactly what it is that you are asking.

Right this is clear now, twin filament baulb & into your settings, complete and utter waste of time as mentioned previously by jassy06.

It was my understanding that the LED DRL's would be fitted to the RCZ next year and this would be a good time IMO to update the dated corporate front end with a simple bumper change. Not saying that this would be a facelift but utilising a situation. i.e. problem becomes opportunity.

Hey Guys new here!

I appreciate we are now in 2012 and this topic was soooo last year ..lol but any update on the facelift question??

Its actually stopping me from buying an RCZ at the moment as i dont want to spend around £27 - 28k on speced up RCZ GT Auto if they are going to facelift within a few months.

I know it sounds daft but id rather spend an extra 6 grand on a ..... dare i say it ....TT  if they cant confirm this, ive emailed pug directly for an answer which i know they wont give me!!

its giving me the right hump :brickwall: as i want to put an order in for a 12 plate which will take the 8-10 weeks till the 1st March so any update on this would be cool...
