Hi, i recently purchased a 2013 Peugeot RCZ 1.6 petrol and recently i have been having the issue where the engine temperature has been rising very slowly at idle to 90 degrees but as soon as you start driving the engine temps drop to around 70 degrees. like the thermostat is 'stuck open' and the air is cooling the car too much
its currently at the garage still and the mechanic cannot figure out what the issue is... it has had 2 new thermostat housings fitted and it is still running with the same issue.
there have not been any codes showing up on the OBD readers and when tracking the temps with the reader they match what the gauge on the dashboard is reading. the drop in temp when driving is steady and doesn't fluctuate rapidly and the engine never goes over the 90 degree mark. it all seems to be related to the amount of air flowing through the engine. the only other issues i have noticed are that the air con stopped working at the same time and i have the trademark timing chain tensioner rattle when cold (which obviously isn't good if the engine is running cold)
has anyone else come across this issue and found a way to fix it?
thank you
