So I am posting this as an unusual feeling of rage  begins to subside! After 7 months, of almost OCD levels of care, one of my prized black solstice alloys has met the teeth of a vicious kerb!! Now, had this been solely my doing I would have been irritated with myself and uttered words at my own idiocy. However, as this was the direct result of a motorcyclist with a death wish my anger is two-fold. I am trying to remind myself that it could always have been worse. In this case it may well have resulted in a motorcycling being a rather smudged mark on my car or that of the oncoming vehicles.
In short, I was on a B road heading back into work. There are a few sections of this road that are very straight but none particularly long. I was aware on approaching traffic that there was a motorcyclist absolutely booting it up behind a couple of cars having just overtaken one in the distance. As the gap between us closed I thought to myself that there was no way he would now try to take the others. I was wrong! The gap now next to nothing was what he judged as being an opportune moment to pass and I was forced to brake hard and swerve. Obviously, I was unable to catch the plate as he belted on by. I felt the kerb bite and my heart sink. I pulled over at the next available opportunity to inspect the damage. I actually thought it would be much worse and feared damage to the bodywork. This is what met me...
Now, I know this could have been much worse and very much would have been had I not taken evasive action but it's still really wrangled me after the care I have taken to look after the alloys. Does anyone know if this can be repaired?! :eusa-think: If so, how much might I be looking at? The problem, in my mind, is the type of alloy that it is and so it would not be as easy to repair as say the sortilege alloys. Failing repair, do you think it would be possible to ask my dealership/Peugeot to source one replacement alloy? :eusa-think: I have scoured quickly this afternoon and drawn a blank to all these questions and any help or advice would be much appreciated!
