mrizzle said:Oh dear RON that wouldn't do at all!! Incidentally what would be the cause of death, collapsing tyre jacks or a rather unimpressed OH?
I still need to actually buy the winter tyres. However, I'll have to chum somebody up when the day to fit them rolls along as my wife's noddy car and "show boot" is unlikely to prove terribly helpful.

mrizzle said:Ok the difference in price between the Falkens and the Continental Wintersports is now fractional (about 17 bucks a tyre). To this end, I wonder if I am as well going for the contis? Any suggestions? Has anyone used these? It's going to set me back almost 850 bucks now for these bad boys but the summer contis are utterly utterly useless in the lower temperatures and it's getting ridiculous trying to get grip on cold wet roads. I may neglect to tell the missus quite how much they cost...shhhhhhh!!!
mrizzle said:Well I went to quidco and in the end ordered them directly from Belmont who will fit them for ten bucks a pop. I'll visit a graveyard for Jen's flowers.

...and then she'll lay them on yours! You broken it to her yet that you've squandered her Xmas pressie fund on the wrang kind o rubber?
...is it contis that you've ordered from Belmont? Will they store your summers??
