Hi all, ...i would like to add to the discussion of this motion as few weeks ago I attended my Peugeot dealership and the confusion of what my service would cost ensued as there was no straight answer ,,AND we also entered a discussion about a service plan!
Firstly, dealerships openly rip off customers with regard to OIL, charging £114 for around 5 litres of 'Mobil 1 XE3000' when you could buy 5 litres of it for less that half that AND they're buying at a great discount it large drums !
You can buy 2 x 5 litre containers of the RCZ Peugeot recommended fully synthetic TOTAL 5w30 oil for £50 OR 6 litres of it for around £36 on Amazon OR the Mobil 1 XE3000 is available too if you prefer.
SECONDLY:
Ive never had a service plan before and now understand that its not what I initially thought it was ,,in that its just a basic "SAVINGS ACCOUNT" in which the dealer acts as the bank/buildings society! Also depending on what service was next due and estimated annual mileage dictates how much the service plan would cost per month. Otherwise my payments wouldn't work out to cover my next service and i'd have to pay the difference, i.e: next service cost minus service plan payments to date.
In an attempt to make their "savings account" as that is simply what it is appear more attractive they add a few benefits. The latter basically includes 10% off any other work carried out and collection of your vehicle when its service comes around BUT only within a set radius which I'm outside of anyway! SO, once again it appears that its not quite 'what it says on the (Peugeot) tin'!
Other that those Z' owners that have got their cars on a lease type agreement I wonder what the take up is of these cleverly hidden savings accounts?? :eusa-think:
.the big blue (wishing to have this scam discussed in a free vote in the house ,,& YES I am passionate about rip offs ! ) :sleeping-yellow:
