Black solstice alloys

Just like to inform you all re the above.I have one (drivers side front) that is showing sign of corrosion about a 3rd of the way round on the outside rim.All my alloys apart from this one are fine and never been kerbed (sorry big blue). I booked car in to get handbrake adjusted under warranty and get the alloy looked at.Dealer did handbrake and informed me that they had took pictures of it and had sent to warranty folk.2 weeks went by and no response,so i phoned the dealer who said they would get on to warranty folk. They contacted me next day to say warranty had asked if all four alloys were same as they had sent 2 pictures but apparently didnt say which wheel it was.I informed dealer that they should have informed warranty what wheel it was in the first place and have wasted 2 weeks in the process. They are now replying to warranty correctly.I now await the" you must have kerbed it" routine. There are no marks on the flat silver area, only on the rim so thats not on.I think that wheels should maybe last more than 10 months without corrosion.I clean all wheels with the same stuff, so it aint no corrosion from that.A pity as these alloys are the most suited to the rcz in my opinion.I think i read somewhere here of someone else who had a similiar prob.I will advise on the outcome.

Had to have all 4 of mine replaced under warranty. I made a compelling case, even though the previous owner had kerbed the alloys. No fuss and got them within a week or so.

It's a shame they haven't sorted these niggles out for the beautiful facelift version, as this is a well known issue for these alloys.

These alloys were available on the mk 1,ugly as it was, but yes i agree with you wholeheartedly.

Yes they were available, excellent RCZ knowledge there.

Just to clarify, do you mean the front was disgusting? The sides, rear and interior are pretty damn similar on both mk's?

I do hope Peugeot UK come up trumps as they did for me. I'd hate for this to sour the mk2 experience in anyway for you.

Hey wrapper :greetings-wavingblue:
...there isn't anything wrong with kerbed alloys ,,its the kerb that did it ! ..AND for that I must lay down on my sword. The latter is an honourable Samurai act that I have considered many times when having to touch up my sortilinges with my famed & patented NOT AS GOOD AS NEW method of repair !

Hope Peugeot Customer Services act with integrity and sort your wheel as most of what we expect from them isn't going to alter their corporate bank balance BUT if they don't assist in the long run it eventually will.

.the big blue (& the Mk1 isn't ugly its Aggressive ,,unlike this Samurai back bencher with his fetish for nail varnish!)

There Was A Time. Abbreviated TWAT when there was only the mk1 therefore this was the best front at the time, the mk2 front is only a designers attempt to alter something that is already perfect, I'm sure that in the future the mk2 front will also become redesigned as a mk3 version adding more fuel to the debate of which front is best. Each individual is in titled to their opinion as I'm sure they are both equally liked but as this moment in time an interesting fact is that there is more mk1 fronts driving about than mk2 fronts.

Purely down to finance i suspect.I maintain it was a Pug attempt at a corporate identity, and now welcome the mk3 when and if it is launched.

As a supporter of the Peugeot brand I prefer the look of the mk1 over the mk2, the latter being less of a typical Peugeot look.
I think that Peugeot felt the same as they only styled the 107 update and mk2 front like that and are now taking a different style direction with the new 308, which I'm pretty sure the mk3 will follow if it ever materializes.

Sorry but of course i disagree.Pugs are ok as repmobiles, they pushed the boat out with the rcz, corrected it with the mk2,but in general design are very bland. They got in there with the rcz..now i hope they move it forward.
