So...I bit the bullet and ordered a few things today;

Werkstatt Acrylic kit
(http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog ... c-kit.html)

Some new wheel woolies (as mine had seen better days)
(http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog ... -cat4.html)

Some Sonus Wheel cleaner (as I wasn't sure about the recommendation provided by Rich at PB)
(http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels-an ... _1180.html)

1L of VP Advanced Neutral Snow Foam (though might save that for a really tough test...just a little disappointed by the Autobrite Magifoam)

I also bought some Car Chem snow foam that I have heard so much about. Rather wish they'd revisit their delivery prices though as I do think that they're awfully steep (almost a third of the price of the 5L of snow foam)

A chum on the VXR forum is going to provide me with samples of the Gyeon Bathe+ and Wet Coat to try before I buy which is jolly decent of him.

Finally, these are where I purchased these products and have always received a first class service (particularly PB who, if you wish, will provide lengthy information regarding products etc). However, they are not endorsed by the forum directly and there are many other suppliers/shops out there.

Thanks again to everyone for the advice!

Matt you daft nana, I could have given you some Gyeon stuff ;)

With regards to Car Chem delivery costs. It's best to order a number of items at a time as a set delivery charge.

You should have tried some Car Chem Revolt wheel cleaner. It's brilliant [THUMBS UP SIGN]

Thanks Kerry, that's kind of you.

Awwwww maaaaaan...I never even noticed that. Oh well, I'll see how I fair with the Sonus. Rich recommended the 222 stuff which I baulked at the price at or the Wolf's stuff which would appear to be similar but pricier. I'm hoping that the Sonus stuff lasts a good time as it seems to be suggested that very little is required to get a decent result.

:D

Tried out the Sonax wheel cleaner today. Oh my!!!! That is some seriously impressive stuff!!! Cut straight through several months of brake dust and grime on Mrs R's noddy car alloys (largely due to neglect on my part...actually hers, it IS her car after all) without any need for even the slightest agitation. The bleeding was immense. Wish I'd taken pics. Excellent stuff!!

So here it is in action and this is just after a couple of days build up of brake dust and road muck (although I have been out for a couple of "spirited drives" today).

After just a couple of minutes dwelling:

Power washed but not yet dried:

I hadn't taken a before picture because they actually looked sparkling!!

Auto Glym alloy cleaners certainly used to be quite acidic and I (personally) wouldn't be rushing to stick an acidic product on my alloys, particularly if they're diamond cut. I also think that their alloy wheel cleaner is quite expensive compared to a product such as the Car Chem one that RCZ1 highlighted. However, if you're happy with it then I'm not knocking your choice.

Alternatively you could just stick in some headphones and enjoy a nice relaxing detail. ;)

Well there's enjoyment to be had from many other things in life so that's fair enough in my eyes.

I`m with t44amk. Just wash and go. More time to drive, although with the investment in the RCZ I should change my mind. P.S Wash and Go is not what I use, that's for hair is it not.

Or, spend 4 hours doing it fully and for the next two years all you need is a pressure washer :)

Each to their own of course.

I am all for Autoglym products  I have used them for longer than i can remember...But their products are limited in theirs use....l use "AGSRP...AGHDW"..both are hard to beat...."Probably Autoglym best selling products"but every now and again i treat my car to special products, especially when i just get a new car or feel like a change of product its cheaper than a change of car.You either love or loathe car detailing.. but i spent the best part of £30k on my car like most on this forum so a hundred quid on detailing products to keep it eye catching...is well worth it,l used to spend about a £100 a month on car products easily but my priorty's changed....and now they have changed again for the better... :)

Also worth a mention is when owning a "flat painted brilliant white car",which is not the most rewarding to detail as its difficult to get a bright white wet look to the cars paint, you need to speculate to accumulate
